| Main Street Cafe | Bloomer, WI | |
|
My family lived in Eau Claire and owned a cabin up north of Bloomer
on Island Lake. We'd stop in here every-so-often. The food is
good, but the pie is EXCELLENT! You gotta stop in if you're in the
area.

| Aquavit | Minneapolis, MN | |
|
Had a team lunch here. Was not impressed. The portions are very
small and the prices are very big. The desserts are wonderful
to look at, but the salty marsipan didn't taste all that good.
I'd stick to the 510 Resturant if you want a fancy place to eat.

| Davanni's Pizza & Hot Hoagies | Minneapolis, MN | |
|
This resturant is located in the ground floor of an apartment
complex on the outskirts of Downtown Minneapolis. As such, parking
is tough. They don't have a lot of their own and there isn't much
street parking. The food is very good. The hoagies are well made
and the pizza is great! Get a Pick 3 solo pizza for lunch...it's
just the right size.

| Keys Nicollet Mall Cafe | Minneapolis, MN | |
|
This is one of the many Key's Cafes in the Twin Cities. It's got
to be the smallest! The dining area is very small and is somewhat
crowded. Taking small children here is not advised. The food
is great! The best thing on the menu is the open-faced turkey sandwich.
Lots of moist turkey on a thick slice of bread smothered with gravy
and served with mashed potatoes and stuffing. Watch out however,
'cuz it can be very salty at times.

| Old Chicago | Minneapolis, MN | |
|
I've eaten here a couple of times for lunch. The pizza buffet is
good and definately filling, but there's not much selection.
We like to go here every so often. If you make special requests
(like my wife did with her salad "Light dressing"), be prepared
to send it back. They don't always get it.

| Culvers | Menomonie, WI | |
|
I've eaten at this place twice...and had two completely different
experiences. The chicken fingers are good. I would recommend
them to anyone. Also, the fish is good. Try the fish sandwich.
The burgers, however, tasted REALLY bad. I'd never get one of
their "butter burgers" again.

| Great Wall Buffet | Eau Claire, WI | |
|
What can I really say...it's a strip mall Chinese buffet. Don't
expect much. The food is fine but as my wife so wisely pointed out..."Since
when did Chinese food include potatoes with cheese?"

| Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que | Saint Paul, MN | |
|
Having only been to the one in Uptown, it was a shock to find that
this one was not a sit-down, come-take-my-order resturant.
Still, the food is very good. The Resturant itslef is rather small
and loud. The brisket I had was quite a bit more fatty than the Uptown
serves, but the fries & cornbread are just as good. If you want
Dave's in a hurry, try this place.

| Good Earth | Minneapolis, MN | |
|
This is a very "granola" resturant. Everything is very earth
friendly. The cookies are great. If you want to stay for a meal,
try the Rainforest Beef and Broccoli. It's very good.

| D. Brian's | Minneapolis, MN | |
|
This is probably the best service I've ever gotten at a resturant.
My wife and I went here with our 2 year old son. While waiting for
the food to be prepared, my son got a piece of bread stuck to the
roof of his mouth and threw up all over my wife. The manager flew
into action and got us rags to clean up with. He helped us get our
tray to a table and told us not to worry about paying until we were
settled. He also brought us out some free pastries. I've never
been treated so well. The food is good as well, but not quite as
good as the service!

| Ed Debevic's Short Orders Deluxe | Chicago, IL | |
|
There is a fine line between acting rude and actually being rude.
I don't know if our waitress was not feeling well or what the day
we visited, but she seemed to zoom right over that line to actually
being. The food is not good enough to make me want to try it again!

| Norske Nook | Rice Lake, WI | |
|
"Norske Nook North" (as those of us who grew up with the original
in Osseo call it) is not quite as good as the original, but still
worth your time. The food is good and the service is nice. If you're
in Rice Lake, give it a try!

||
| Leeann Chin Chinese Cuisine | Minneapolis, MN | |
|
As a Leeann Chin takeout, it's not too bad. The food is usually
fresh & warm. The peking chicken is VERY good but can be spicy at
times. This is a great place for quick Chinese.

||
| Best Steak House | Minneapolis, MN | |
|
Talk about a greasy spoon! This is a nice little place in the strip
mall at Nicollet and Diamond Lake. The food is good and the service
is nice. Definately NOT a fancy place. Plan on a relaxed and informal
meal.

||
| Chang Mi Thi | Minneapolis, MN | |
|
This is a very nice Thai place. The chicken and cashews is excellent
and large. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and relaxing. The
leather booths feel great!
|
||
| Houlihan's | Minneapolis, MN | |
|
The only time I have ever visited here, they couldn't have been
more of a trouble. Both my wife and my mother-in-law were served
meals they didn't order. After they fixed my wife's meal, the
fish was full of bones. To their credit, however, they didn't
charge us for either of the meals. I had the pot roast...it was
devine!

||
| D. Brian's Deli & Catering | Minneapolis, MN | |
|
The sandwiches are very good and the fries are too. It's located
on the second floor in the Skyway, so it regularly gets very busy
around the noon hour.

||
| Lion's Pause | Northfield, MN | |
|
This is actaully the snack bar at St. Olaf College, but it is worth
the trip up to campus if you're in Northfield. The menu has many
different items ranging from shakes to nachos to pizza bagels
to lattes to home-made pizzas. The pizza itself is worth the stop.
Lots of cheese, great crust and spicy sausage...it just doesn't
get any better.
Since it is a student run campus snack bar, the service can vary widely. Most of the time it's good, but be prepared to have to wait a bit for your food. It's always worth it. |

| Grandma's Saloon & Deli | Minneapolis, MN | |
|
I've eaten here a couple of times. The food is good and the service
is adequate, but it just seems a bit loud and noisy. I'll go back,
but not for a special occasion.
