| Eggies Restaurant | Sacramento, CA | |
|
On first arrival, the place was packed! I had to wonder why as the
interior doesn't look like much and the elderly lady at the register
appeared kind of surly, barking orders at the staff. When we were
finally seated after a 20 minute wait, the watresses were very
attentive. After placing our order and another 30 minute wait,
our food finally arrived, and boy did it! There was so much food
that i was only able to eat half of my omelette and half of the hash
browns. I now know why the locals go here. There is plenty of time
to socialize between breaks and the food is amongst the best breakfast
in town. I stop short of putting Eggies on my list because of the
long wait.

| China Inn | Sacramento, CA | |
|
Located in the Natomas Center, this version of chinese fast food
is above others I have tried. The decor is that of other fast-food
restaurants, but the quality and quantity were excellent. Members
of our party enjoyed the Kung Pao chicken, Orange chicken, Black
Pepper beef, Beef and Broccoli, rice and chow mein. The only complaint
was that the Kung Pao chicken was not spicy enough. This is a wonderful
alternative for chinese food on-the-run.

| Scoma's | San Francisco, CA | |
|
Scomas has been here forever and I continue to visit this fine
restaurant whenever possible. From most seats you can see the
Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge. The views are spectacular.
The food is excellent! I've had steak, scallops, halibut, salmon,
calamari, and their scrumptuous salads to name a few. oh, and
don't miss the crab cakes. If you've never been there, ask for
directions. All the locals know Scoma's

| Pizza Bell | Elk Grove, CA | |
|
I've only had deliveries from Pizza Bell and have never been to
their location. I can tell you that I have never been disappointed
with the quality or promptness of service. I like the taco pizza
the best.

| Moonraker Restaurant | Pacifica, CA | |
|
JUST GOT BACK FROM A WEDDING HELD AT THE MOONRAKER AND LIGHTHOUSE
HOTEL. THE VIEWS WERE WONDERFUL OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN AND MADE
A STUNNING BACKDROP FOR A WEDDING. WE MUST HAVE HIT THE WAIT STAFF
AND THE RESTAURANT ON A BAD NIGHT THOUGH. ALTHOUGH THE FOOD FOR
THE MOST PART WAS EXCELLENT, THE WAITRESS WAS SLOW AND ALMOST
SNAPPED AT YOU WHEN ASKING FOR A GLASS OF WATER. I WOULD HIGHLY
RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT GIVEN A DIFFERENT WAITRESS.

| Bubba Gump Shrimp Co | San Francisco, CA | |
|
THEY'VE GOT FRIED SHRIMP, BOILED SHRIMP, BAKED SHRIMP, BROILED
SHRIMP, SHRIMP CREOLE, SHRIMP SHISHKABOB....ETC. YOU KNOW
HOW IT GOES! TAKING IT'S AMBIENCE AND CHARACTER FROM THE MOVIE
"FORREST GUMP, " THIS RESTAURANT IS LOCATED AT THE END OF SAN
FRANCISCO'S TOURIST TRAP, PIER 39. THE RESTAURANT IS SET UP WITH
PLENTY OF GUMPISMS ABOUT. THE WAIT STAFF WAS VERY ATTENTATIVE.
THEY COULDN'T HELP IT! WHEN YOU ARE SEATED, THERE IS A SIGN ON THE
TABLE DIRECTING YOUR WAITER TO STOP OR BYPASS YOUR TABLE. ONE
SIDE SAID, "RUN FORREST RUN" (DON'T STOP), THE OTHER SIDE SAID,
"STOP FORREST STOP" (I NEED SERVICE). THE FOOD WAS GOOD AND THE
PORTIONS JUST RIGHT. I HAD THE LT. DAN'S DRUNKEN SHRIMP. IT WAS
WELL PROPORTIONED WITH SHOE STRING POTATOES ATOP MASHED POTATOES
WITH ALTERNATING SHRIMP AND SAUSAGE AROUND THE POTATOES BATHED
IN SAUCE. THEIR DESSERTS ARE HEAVENLY. ECSPECIALLY THE "ALABAMA
MUD PIE." THERE IS A FULL SERVICE BAR FOR THOSE WITH A CERTAIN TASTE
TO BE QUENCHED. AFTERWARD VISIT THE BUBBA GUMP SHRIMP CO GIFT
SHOP NEXT DOOR. EVERYONE SHOULD TRY THIS PLACE!

| Aliotos Restaurant | San Francisco, CA | |
|
For such a famous name I was gravely disappointed in the restaurant
overall. The food was good as i had a cioppino, but the service,
ambience, and overall feeling of the place was poor. There are
far better restaurants minutes away.

| Dante's Italian Seafood Restaurant | San Francisco, CA | |
|
I've been here several times and was only disappointed once.
The view of the yacht harbor and bay are delightful. The food has
always been good and depending on what you order the portions
are also fine. One knock is that the service has not always been
attentative. There are better places in the area, but in the tourist
trap of pier 39, this is good quality.

| Fishermen's Grotto | San Francisco, CA | |
|
I come here for several reasons, but the GIANT crab louis, beautiful
view, and good service are three. The only reason I don't give
it 5 stars is because of the interior. Hire a decorator please!

| Franciscan Restaurant | San Francisco, CA | |
|
This once excellent restaurant on the wharf gets one star for
the view. I don't know what has happened over the years, but on
the latest visit the food was overcooked, the creme brulle awful,
and the waiter surly! I may come back again, but not for quite awhile.

| Noah's Bagels | Sacramento, CA | |
|
I love these bagels! Always the freshest, and when toasted, near
perfection. Give me an onion bagel with blueberry spread any
day.The lines can be long at some hours and hard to find a spot to
enjoy your bagel.

| Murder Burgers | Davis, CA | |
|
I accidentally discovered Murder Burger about 10 years ago on
a visit to UC Davis. I can tell you that it is one of the best burgers
I have ever had. The largest burger, aka the name of the joint,
must be shared. The milkshakes are of the old fashioned variety,
creamy ice cream and real strawberrys. A must try if passing through.

| New Ocean Seafood Chinese Restaurant | San Francisco, CA | |
|
We had some business visitors from Malaysia who had said that
they had heard about this place there. We were all new to the place
and enjoyed it very much. The food was fresh and offered many traditional
asian dishes as well as dishes found in the average asian fare
restaurant. Needless to say our guest were as impressed as we
were sampling a wide variety of dishes. Despite the cost of the
meal for 7 people it was quite reasonable. I would recommend New
Ocean highly as would our visitors.

| The Formosa Cafe | Sacramento, CA | |
|
Yes, yes, yes! The decor is poor, not even passable by todays standards.
The service is absent almost as if planned that way. But, the food
is excellent! I read lisa's review, an excellent one, but wondered
if she was eating at the Taco Bell next door. The food here has been
traditionally excellent over the years and the decor poor. That
is why us locals use formosa as a take-out restaurant. Besides
it can get pretty expensive if yo go for the take-out boxes as a
unique package for a wedding present!

| Leatherby's Family Creamery | Sacramento, CA | |
|
AN OLD TIME FAVORITE OF LOCALS. THIS FAMILY OWNED AND RUN LOCATION
OF THE ORIGINAL LEATHERBY FAMILY IS A FAVORITE. THERE ARE LARGE
CROWDS ON THE WEEKENDS OR WHEN THE WEATHER WARMS UP. MY FAVORITE
DISH IS THE DADDY DAVE'S. IT IS AN OVERSIZED, DOUBLE BANANA SPLIT,
WITH THREE MOUNDS OF HOMEMADE ICE CREAM THAT TAKES THREE PEOPLE
TO FINISH. THE FOOD THERE HOWEVER IS ONLY AVERAGE. COME FOR THE
ICECREAM AND THE FRIENDLY FAMILY ATMOSPHERE AND YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.

| Papa's Pizzeria | Rio Linda, CA | |
|
The best pizza parlor in Rio Linda! Well, the only pizza parlor
in Rio Linda. Papa's however is excellent. The interior is dressed
with wooden bench booths and wooden tables. The salad bar has
quite alot to offer. We ordered a pepperoni pizza for $9.99 and
it was served to perfection. Not greasy like Roundtable's "Big
Vinnie." The only drawback is that it is difficult to find. It
is tucked away in an alley of a shopping center next to the Human
Assistance office. Overall, a very pleasant suprise!

||
| Half-Time Cafe & Deli | Sacramento, CA | |
|
The cafe and deli is located not far from the old Arco Arena. The
food is pretty standard fair for a deli. The sandwiches had plenty
of meat and generous toppings. The salad bar had plenty of choices
and was relatively inexpensive. A sandwich was $3.95 as well
was a large salad to go. Not bad!

| Grand Mandarin Restaurant | Sacramento, CA | |
|
This restaurant has always had excellent Chinese food, but has
converted over to a buffet, asian style restaurant. The buffet
was amazing! The quality of food as well as the many items was phenominal.
The sushi selection was unique to a buffet style restaurant.
This restaurant puts Umeko to shame at half the price.
|
||
| Keefer's Restaurant | King City, CA | |
|
I've been having Mothers Day breakfast here for the last 7 years.
The restaurant is delightful and the menu complete. The food
has always been very good, but the service has been consistently
slow over the years. Plan on waiting if you arrive at peak hours.
This is a very popular restaurant.
|
||
| Fook Yuen Seafood Restaurant | Millbrae, CA | |
|
This is one of the best Hong Kong style restaurants in the area.
I was introduced to several new Dim Sum that i had not tried before.
The waiters were friendly and hepful. The decor unique. I was
very impressed.
