| Hard Rock Cafe | Vancouver, BC | |
|
Your basic Hard Rock. About the only major difference was remembering
to use Canadian dollar amounts we we're from Dallas. It was a little
slower than other Hard Rocks, but we were in no hurry and it was
pretty decent walking distance from the tower, which has an incredible
day and night view. Gotta do both. Beautiful.

| Cafe Eccell | College Station, TX | |
|
This place has great wood-fired pizzas! Also, the desserts are
extensive and wonderful. Try the creme brulee. Some of the entrees,
though, are not as good a value as the pizza.

| Fat Burger | College Station, TX | |
|
Good place for cheap, yummy, greasy burgers. Also, the fries
are a heart-attack on a plate. Good stuff. Good chili cheese fries.

| Water Street Seafood Co | Corpus Christi, TX | |
|
This is my favorite place to eat in Corpus. If you get the salad,
you gotta get that walnut dressing. They will sell you a bottle,
but remember that it has to be refrigerated. They make it there.

| Wings N' More | College Station, TX | |
|
Love the wings. I crave these wings...wish I could get them now
that I live in Dallas. Also, the bleu cheese dressing is fresh,
thick, and creamy.

| Cafe Adobe | Houston, TX | |
|
This is a great place to get together with friends. Great margaritas
and really good food. I also like the atmosphere.

| J J's Restaurant & Bar | Harlingen, TX | |
|
Good place to get together with friends. The burgers are great,
as are the cheesesticks, but avoid the Mexican food. It's not
their specialty. Also, avoid the fried mushrooms. They're like
grease sponges and not good at all.

| Pepe's Mexican Restaurant | Harlingen, TX | |
|
This is where I get Mexican food when I'm in town. The food is very
reasonably priced and delicious. They really earned their accolade
in the magazine. The place really gets filled, but it's worth
the wait and they do their best to keep it moving. The owner is always
present and makes sure that the diners are happy. (we are)

| Terry's Que' Pasta | Harlingen, TX | |
|
This place is one of the nicest in Harlingen. Good food and nice
atmosphere. The soups are great and the salad is fresh. If you
can get it, the creme brulee is to die for.

| La Vigna | Oregon, IL | |
|
This restaurant, hidden away in the small Illinois town of Oregon
is WONDERFUL! My fiance proposed to me there. Everything we've
ever had there was perfect. Also, they arranged the roses he proposed
to me with in a vase for us. I only wish the restaurant was in Dallas, TX,
where we live so we could go more often.

| Boog-A-Dee Boo's Burgers | Harlingen, TX | |
|
I really enjoy the burgers but they're HUGE! If you don't want
a huge burger, ask about the child's size. Otherwise, it's very
fresh and the toppings are plentiful.

| Campisi's Egyptian Restaurant | Dallas, TX | |
|
Love Campisi's! My fiance and I had our first date there and just
returned for the anniversary of our first date and to celebrate
our engagement. The pizza is wonderful, (try chicken, tomato
and mushroom) but I tend to get the combination plate so I can get
the lasangne. The lines have shortened drastically since the
expansion, but we always eat in the old part. Don't forget the
Joe's toast!!!

| Terrilli's Restaurant | Dallas, TX | |
|
I don't think the food was nearly good enough to make up for the
world's worst service. I was so looking forward to a great meal
because I had heard great things about this place but our waitress
was rude with us from the moment we walked in. The place was almost
empty but she refused us the table we requested. She never smiled
once although we kept smiling at her because she seemed like one
who would mess with your food. It ruined the whole meal. I think
it may have been a race thing because she was more rude to the Hispanic
diners than to the white. The manager was no help. Racist Dallas
is alive and well at Terrilli's.

| Jesse James Bar-B-Q | Dallas, TX | |
|
I heard a rumor that this place is no longer open. I hope that's
not true because they have the BEST BAKED POTATOES IN THE METROPLEX.
Big as footballs, the potatoes are crammed full of toppings.
They pour the already-melted butter on top. Lots of sour cream
and more cheese than you can imagine. Absolutely WORTH THE DRIVE
to Pleasant Grove. Incredible barbeque too. Get the potato stuffed
with barbeque. I ask for the meat on the side. It's sooo good, but
come hungry.

| Joe's Pizzeria | Oregon, IL | |
|
During a recent visit to Illinois (I'm from Dallas), we ordered
some pizza at Joe's. This place is a great pizza joint. This is
the reason I avoid pizza chains. No pizza chain can compare. Cripy
crust, tasty sauce, heavy with toppings. I'm getting hungry
just thinking about it.

| Cappy's Chowder House | Camden, ME | |
|
I really enjoyed this place. I also like it's proximity to the
harbor. It was a nice way to cap off an evening of sailing. Try the
blueberry pie. They also have a cute little gift shop on the side
of the building where I bought some lobster picks to bring back
to Dallas.

||
| Ivar's Restaurants Acres Of Clams | Seattle, WA | |
|
Ivar's is a must for the Seattle tourist. We loved the place, but
yes, you have to be a fish lover. That's the whole point. When you
go to Maine, eat lobster. In Seattle's waterfront, eat fish.
You're right near Pike Place. Go with it.

| Ro-Van's Bakery & Restaurant | South Padre Island, TX | |
|
Look up: You'll see RoVan's train tracks running along the ceiling.
Look down: You'll find some great food. Great selection and bakery
items. Very reasonable. Friendly, too. Great barbeque. This
is the kind of place I like to bring out-of-towners.

| Blackbeards' Restaurant | South Padre Island, TX | |
|
Not a place to go on a date (TOO LOUD), but the perfect place to bring
the family and friends. The burgers are wonderful and the onion
rings are huge and delicious. The atmosphere is cool and it's
worth getting an outside seat.
