| Knotty Pine Restaurant | Icard, NC | |
The food here is very good considering the location. I enjoyed
the family atmosphere.

| Dragon Garden | Morganton, NC | |
This is the best chinese restaurant I have found so far in this
area. The atmosphere is really nice too.
| Mister Omelet of America | Conover, NC | |
This is not a bad place for breakfast, but I would recommend the
extra drive to IHOP instead.
| Thai Taste | Charlotte, NC | |
This is my absolute fav Thai restaurant. They have the best thai
iced tea in the world.
| Tony's Pizza | Hickory, NC | |
This place has the best pizza in town. They carry all of my favorite
toppings, including spinach fresh tomatoes and fresh garlic.
They also have stromboli, calzone, and lasagna. I highly recommend
the cannoli for dessert!

| El-Palenque | Statesville, NC | |
About the best Mexican you can hope to find in the Statesville
area. Not too greasy...overall pretty fair.
| Italian Oven | Statesville, NC | |
I would definately recomend taking the longer drive to Olive
Garden in Hickory...the salad lacks the usual flair of an Italian
inspired feast and the chicken marsala leaves way too much to
be desired!
| Schlotzsky's Deli | Statesville, NC | |
This is the best sandwich shop franchise to open in the Statesville
area in many years. The food is excellent and I highly recomend
the potatoe salad.
| Harbor Inn Seafood | Morganton, NC | |
The seafood at this branch of Harbor Inn is exactly the same as
the others..but much better than the usual hole-in-the wall
seafood houses that are prevailent in this area.
| Ginza Japanese Restaurant | Hickory, NC | |
This used to be the best Japanese in the Hickory area but alas...no
more. The restaurant changed owners and the food went directly
into the toilet. Even the sushi is bad now and if I cant eat the sushi..it
has to be nasty!
| Kobe' Japanese House of Steak | Hickory, NC | |
The sushi here is the absolute best and the rest of the dining experience
is authenticly Japanese. The steamed soybeans are particully
unusual and very delicious.
| Captain's Gallery Seafood | Hickory, NC | |
I used to be forced to eat here when I worked at a local nursing home
and this restaurant never got our take out order correct! They
never had half the things on their menu and the food was greasy
and overpriced.
| Golden Dragon | Hickory, NC | |
The food is very good but yes, it is hard to understand the employees
and they like to stare at you as if you are something they have never
seen before.
| Tex's Fish Camp | Connellys Springs, NC | |
The food here is deplorable! It's greasy and all the seafood tastes
exactly the same..like week old grease!
| Harbor Inn Express | Conover, NC | |
The food at this little express Harbor Inn is just as good as the
bigger ones and the waitresses are a whole lot friendlier.
| Wilco Food Court | Conover, NC | |
This is a very good idea for truck stops because it offers the travel
weary a place to rest and eat familiar food too.
| Macado's | Boone, NC | |
The atmosphere is very good for college students but the prices
arent. The sandwiches are good though and the desserts are wonderful.
| Makoto Seafood & Steak House | Boone, NC | |
I always enjoyed the food here and they have sushi too. However,
my sister worked here one summer and said that they are not as clean
as could be desired.
| Original Emporium Restaurant | Blowing Rock, NC | |
My sister worked here for a few weeks and we discovered that the
food is terrific! I would certainly put this on my list of places
to visit when going to Blowing Rock
| Geppeto's Pizza | Newton, NC | |
The calzones here are the best and the pizza bar is terrific too.
I would highly recommend going here on a date! You will impress
your friends.
