| B D's Mongolian Barbeque | Okemos, MI | |
|
This place is pretty cool. I love having the food prepared in front
of me. This is one of my husband's favorite spots while in Okemos.

| Pat's Pizza | Augusta, ME | |
|
The food is OK, not the best but it's allright. The prices are about
right for what it all is and the service is pretty good. Overall
it won't hurt you to try it out.

| Killarney's Restaurant | Bangor, ME | |
|
I've only been here once, but they treated us well, the food was
well priced and well prepared, and the atmosphere was decent.

| Steve's Restaurant | Waterville, ME | |
|
This is a great place to go for a night out. Most of the high school
kids choose this restaurant on prom night. It's a well managed
restaurant that knows how to treat the customer and serves good
food.

| Friendly's Restaurant | Waterville, ME | |
|
The ice cream is great if that's all you're going there for. The
sandwiches are pretty good and so are the salads. The biggest
problem
is the service. It takes an awful long time for them to get your
order
to the table - no matter what it is! My parents, my son and I all went
just for ice cream one evening and the service was unbelieveably
slow.
It would've been understandable if there were a lot of people
there that
night, but it was pretty scarse for customers. Overall the food
is good
if you don't mind waiting a long time for it to arrive to the table.
Oh, and they're overpriced.

| Jade Island Restaurant | Waterville, ME | |
|
The food is good, the service is decent and the prices are average.
If you're lucky you can catch the buffet. They put out an awesome
chinese buffet with all of your favorite goodies. Everything
is fresh cooked - it doesn't sit there half the day. They're worth
going to if you're in the area. The only problem that I see with
them is that they try to be family oriented, but the seating is
too close together for you to take your child and for the persons
at the table next to you to not have to hear you correct your child
if he/she isn't behaving properly.

| Island Dairy Treat | Skowhegan, ME | |
|
The prices & service are good and the ice cream is yummy. They give
you a large amount of ice cream for a small price. They have a nice
set up on the bank of the Kennebec River. So you can relax & enjoy
your ice cream in the shade on a picnic table beside the riverbank.
These people even serve you with a smile. :)

| Frederick's Dar-I-Whip | Norridgewock, ME | |
|
This is a family based restaurant. It's in the small town of Norridgewock.
The ice cream is what they're known for and it's good. Their sandwiches
aren't all that great and they're served with chips usually instead
of fries. I wouldn't give this a 1 star or a 2 star....it's more
like a 1 and a half star restaurant.
|
||
| My Cousin's Place | Norridgewock, ME | |
|
This is a small restaurant overlooking the Kennebec River. They
make homemade meals and desserts. It's like going to Grandma's
house for lunch with the food that's served and the atmosphere.
It's overall very well priced and the people there are decent.
If you're ever in the small town of Norridgewock - look them up.

| Charrier's Restaurant & Lounge | Skowhegan, ME | |
|
Charrier's has a good overall atmosphere and is conveniently
located on Madison Avenue in Skowhegan. The food is a bit overpriced
for what it is. The meals are average. I rarely eat there since
their prices increased and their foods didn't get any better.
For Skowhegan this is an average restaurant.

||
| Golden Wok | Skowhegan, ME | |
|
For Chinese dining in central Maine this is a great place to go.
Their food is yummy, their portions are good sized (you'll need
a doggy bag for the extra that you can't finish), their prices
are good and their service is decent. This is my family's choice
for Chinese dining - whether it's at the restaurant or take out.
The only problem they have is seating for a large group is very
difficult for them. It's a small restaurant, but very good.
|
||
| Heritage House | Skowhegan, ME | |
|
The Heritage House really knows how to treat a person when they're
dining out. They have more than adequate seating for large groups
and an area for meetings & dining. The food is very good. This is
a more expensive restaurant, but worth it for the special occasions.
|
||
| Mei Lee Garden | Skowhegan, ME | |
|
Mei Lee Garden has a good atmosphere. This is a good restaurant
for a small or large group. Their prices are a little high, but
the food is good. One of the good things about Mei Lee is that there
is no MSG served in the food. Overall this is a good restaurant.
|
||
| The Purple Cow | Skowhegan, ME | |
|
This is a small diner-like restaurant. They people are cheerful
with down to earth personalities. The food & prices are good.
This is not the place to go if you're on a diet though because it's
difficult finding non-fatty foods on the menu.
|
||
| Kentucky Fried Chicken | Skowhegan, ME | |
|
The food is all right - it's average for a KFC, BUT the service stinks
and when you order a specific kind of chicken (original as opposed
to whatever) and they always seem to be out of what you want. For
some reason they don't know how to give change back properly either.
|
||
| Dunkin Donuts | Skowhegan, ME | |
|
It's your usual Dunkin Donuts. They do a pretty good job with the
donuts, they're soft and delicious. The only problem here is
that there are a couple of people who work there that don't seem
to know what's on the menu and if you're at the drive through, won't
bother to look for the item that's requested. If you go, don't
use the drive through.
|
||
| Angelo's | Waterville, ME | |
|
Angelo's is a nice restaurant. You can go and get a really good
meal for a decent price. The service is very good, the food is excellent,
and the prices aren't bad. It's always very clean when my family
has gone. The only problem I've seen is that if you order a med-well
steak it's closer to medium. Overall this restaurant has been
a good experience and is a good addition to Waterville.
|
||
| Big G's | Waterville, ME | |
|
This is the place to go if you really enjoy a good sandwich and have
a big appetite. They have some pretty original names for the sandwiches.
The atmosphere is good, the place is decked out with photos of
some of your favorite movie stars. Overall this is good for the
whole family or good just for yourself. If you get a whole sandwich
you probably won't be able to finish it. The homemade bread is
the best!
|
||
| Governor's | Waterville, ME | |
|
Governor's is decked out with the Maine State Governor's photos
on the walls. In one section of the restaurant there is a train
that goes by up overhead while you eat that entertains both you
and your children (my son loves to go there for the train and they
grilled cheese sandwich). The food is good for a decent price.
Their bread is homemade and delicious. The service is all right,
but not great. Personally, I like to go to Governor's for their
pies & other desserts, they're the best around!
|
||
| John Martin's Manor Rest | Waterville, ME | |
|
If you're getting the buffet you'll be dissapointed in the food.
The plates of food that you order is good though. I don't know if
it's a different cook you takes care of it, but there is a difference.
They have a banquet room too. We just had a class reunion there
in August 1999 and they did wonderfully. The food was excellent
for the reunion and the service was the best I've seen with such
a large group (about 150 people).
