| Chez Panisse | Berkeley, CA | |

i'm in the food world so often asked by clients, friends "is it worth
it" I always try to reply saying it isn't "fancy" if you can be happy
with a perfect roast chicken--and you can appreciate perfect
vegetables etc.
then you will find it a perfecct experience--if you want a place to
wear your new designer clothes and be served elegant food in an
elegant setting this isn't for you--alice won't miss you. the cafe is
expensive too but more accessible and you'll note from compariing lthe
menus the restaurant and cafe use the same seasonal ingredients. we
enjoy the cafe once or twice a month while the restaurant is for
special occasions
