| Chinese Village Restaurant | Longview, WA | |
|
The food here is fairly priced and satisfying. The service is
a bit laid back and inefficient but if you are just there for a leisurely
lunch... you won't be too disappointed.

| The British Pantry Ltd | Redmond, WA | |
|
If you are ever in the mood for a good old fashioned British breakfast
with some really good tea, then this is the place! They have excellent
tea cakes, shortbread cookies, and scones served with wonderful
English Breakfast Tea. For lunch, I they offer some really nice
sandwiches and entrees AND they also have Guiness on tap!

| Spud Fish & Chips | Seattle, WA | |
|
Excellent fish and chips with a great view overlooking Alki beach!
I had the special for $9.99 and it was hearty and satisfying. Very
generous with the tartar sauce and I love the malt vinegar...
I highly recommend it!

| Chez Michel At Eaton Square | Honolulu, HI | |
|
A fine little restaurant tucked away in Waikiki. Although parking
can be difficult, the fine French cuisine and calm and relaxing
atmosphere makes everything worthwhile.

| Hungry Lion Coffee Shop | Honolulu, HI | |
|
Serving breakfast in a diner-style environment catered towards
the whole family, this restaurant is a local favorite. They do
also serve lunch and dinner but I usually go for breakfast. The
service is friendly and the food is good. Sometimes, when I feel
like a change from Wisteria or Zippy's... this is the place I usually
go...

| Belltown Pub | Seattle, WA | |
|
I just went to this fine restaurant/pub located in Belltown.
The environment is very comfortable and the service was attentive.
They have a fine selection of locally brewed beers on tap and also
very tasty burgers. Of the group I went with, one of them ordered
the pasta and it looked great. Not a bad place to visit if you just
want to have a few drinks and relax with some friends.

| Belltown Billiards & Restaurant | Seattle, WA | |
|
I stumbled upon this place by accident. I was originally going
to meet with some friends at the "Belltown Pub" (see review) but
I didn't know where that was and when I asked another person on
the street, I was directed here. This place has a very interesting
atmosphere, most of the space is used for billiard tables while
there is an elevated space where the bar is located... All along
the two sides of the bar, there are also tables and booths for diners
to sit. They have a full bar and offer some specialty cocktails.
I had a drink and ordered an appetizer (which was half priced before
7pm). I had the Artichoke & Dungeness Crab Dip which was splendid!
If I get a chance, I will definitely visit here again to try out
their entrees...

| Flying Fish | Seattle, WA | |
|
I tried this trendy restaurant located in Belltown because we
had friends visiting and wanted some seafood. The environment
here is very nice and comfortable with some interesting decor.
Service was also very receptive, all the seafood was very fresh,
and prepared with an asian-fusion style we all found quite interesting.
We had oysters served with sort of a Japanese style with Ponzu
along with a Crab prepared in a Black Pepper Garlic bake. The steak
was prepared just right and we also tried this seafood pot with
a wasabi sort of sauce that was wonderful.

| La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib | La Conner, WA | |
|
I just happened to dine at this restaurant while I was admiring
the Skagit Valley tulips... The prices are reasonable, the service
was decent, and the prime rib looked great. Unfortunately, I
didn't feel like steak that day, I ordered a grilled salmon which
was exquisite. The dining environment was really nice and comfortable
with that small town feel...

| Sushi Ten Hana | Bellevue, WA | |
|
I decided to try this restaurant with a friend after reading the
outstanding review about it from this site. Although it was fairly
close to where I lived, it still took us a good half hour to find
this place since it was tucked away from the main streets, you
can imagine how hungry we were when we got there! First off the
bat, we stood by the doorway waiting to be seated for over ten minutes
(it felt more like an hour since I was very hungry)... but from
working at several restaurants, one of which a very good Japanese
restaurant, I was surprised that no host greeted us and the sushi
chefs were too busy with their work to even shout out the usual
"Irrashaimase!"... I was beginning to get annoyed especially
noticing that there were two sushi chefs at the sushi bar while
only one person that seemed to function as host/server/cashier!
This was during their special of "All you can eat sushi from 6pm-9pm"
so you can imagine it was fairly busy (although we got there at
8pm). We were FINALLY seated at a table very close to the sushi
bar in hopes of more attention... boy were we wrong! Our water
and tea did not come until a good ten minutes because the one person
I mentioned was functioning as a cashier at the counter. There
wasn't even menus for us to look at, my friend decided to take two
menus from another table. When we finally were attended to, we
quickly tried to order... I was feeling adventurous and wanting
to test out the quality of their sushi, I wanted the "All You Can
Eat" deal (which isn't cheap for $20.99) but my friend wanted
something else. The server at first said that the "All You Can
Eat" is only available at the sushi bar but I quickly pointed out
that the bar was full. After consulting with the sushi chef, the
server said it was okay. So we ordered and anticipated the dreadful
wait admiring the decent decor of the restaurant and my friend
noticed the two cooks sneaking in from the front door behind a
screen to go into the kitchen! Man... what sort of place is this?!
Finally, the server did the one thing I thought was totally over
the top... he came up to me because there was an ONE opening at the
sushi bar and asked for me to go there! I asked what about my friend
and he replied with a remark saying that I may not have the special
if I don't sit at the sushi bar when there are seats... That did
it, we just got up and left. Seriously, I don't care HOW incredibly
good the food is here... with service like that, I'd rather go
to someplace where the food is mediocre but the service is up to
par!

| Pho An Nam | Bellevue, WA | |
|
I came to this restaurant which was right across from Sushi-Ten
(read review for details) after my terrible experience. The
food was really average, not really authentic Thai or Vietnamese
food but tasty nonetheless. It's a small family run business
with the mother working as the main cook and her two sons working
as servers. The service was good, our waters kept full, and prices
were reasonable. It's got a very homestyle feel to the place and
I thought it was alright.

| Gordon Biersch Brewery Rstrnt | Honolulu, HI | |
|
Since I've gone to the Gordon Biersch's here on the mainland,
the only saving grace to the one in Hawaii is the view... Don't
get me wrong, the Hawaii one is good and maintains the standards
of the restaurants on the mainland but lacks that atmosphere...
Maybe its just me, but I notice a difference and the Gordon Biersch
restaurant's here seem better.

||
| Camellia Buffet | Honolulu, HI | |
|
Prices seem standard to Yakiniku Buffet restaurants and they
carry a pretty large selection of kim chee too. The meats are marinated
well but the service wasn't up to par and you can imagine that the
only service you would need at a buffet joint was either tea, water,
and clean-up! The atmosphere was alright, clean and the air conditioning
was really cold (I guess to compensate the heat inside while cooking
along with Hawaii's temperatures)...
|
||
| Sushi King | Honolulu, HI | |
|
Whenever I feel like sushi for a midnight snack, this is the first
place that comes to mind. They're open till late, they have an
excellent selection of fine sakes, and the sushi is fresh and
well made. The atmosphere is great and the service is superb.
Although it may be a little pricey, but trust me, you get your money's
worth!

||
| Kobe' Japanese Steak House | Honolulu, HI | |
|
A well established Japanese Teppanyaki steak house. The atmosphere
was decent and service was receptive. The performance overall
was okay, maybe that was due to my table having an inexperienced
chef... I ordered the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection
and just melted in my mouth... really splendid! The bill came
out to be quite substantial, good thing I had my Entertainment
card!
|
||
| Kengo's Restaurant Lounge | Honolulu, HI | |
|
A pretty relaxed buffet experience offering a large selection
of fruits, vegetables, and seafood. The prime rib still needs
some improvement but overall very enjoyable. An excellent place
to go for family birthdays or anniversaries...

| Fortune City Seafood Restaurant | Seattle, WA | |
|
One of the most authentic Hong Kong style restaurants here in
Seattle, a VERY close second to the long drive up to Vancouver
for really authentic Hong Kong style food. Unfortunately, they
don't offer Dim Sum but a big plus is that they usually open until
1am (3am on Fridays and Saturdays) for those nasty midnight cravings...
I love the congee there and the service is very attentive and the
atmosphere is clean and comfortable. If you're looking for good
Chinese food, this is the place to be!
|
||
| Hi-Spot Cafe | Seattle, WA | |
|
A wonderful little place for breakfast in the Capitol Hill area.
They even serve "Green Eggs & Ham" (not to worry, just scrambled
eggs with some Pesto)... The French Toast is excellent and enjoy
their freshly squeezed OJ. Do go early because there's usually
a wait but once you do get in... you won't regret it!
|
||
| Marinepolis Sushiland | Bellevue, WA | |
|
Good sushi at affordable prices! You have your usual conveyor-belt
sushi bar which you're charged by the stack of plates you've eaten.
The sushi is considerable fresh and the atmosphere is very comfortable.
Tea and water is on the house while you could also order Miso Soup
or other beverages. I highly recommend this if you're on a budget
and want some sushi...

| Rama On Post Thai Restaurant | Seattle, WA | |
|
This elegant restaurant was conveniently located in the office
building I worked in so you can imagine how often I go there. The
dining room was elaborately decorated and the service was highly
receptive. I especially like the Satays and their Spring Rolls.
A great place to go after work for a drink! The only problem is there
is absolutely no parking for the restaurant itself and the nearby
lots are fairly expensive.
