| Zed's Ethiopian Cuisine | Washington, District of Columbia | |
|
I love Zed's. This was the place that I first tried Ethiopian food.
The staff is very helpful, and will help you decide what is the
right type and amount of food to order. Try the Doro Watt Chicken,
it is very good and spicy, and comes with hard-boiled eggs, but
don't eat to much bread, or you'll get full.

| Uncle Mutt's Bar BQ Co | Victoria, TX | |
|
I quite enjoyed eating at Uncle Mutt's. Their logo is easily recognized
because it's sideways and vertical. I ate the ribs and they were
pretty good, plus thet have meal specials so it's inexpensive.
I would eat here again.

| Trevino's El Toro Restaurant | Victoria, TX | |
|
I like to eat tamales and enchiladas when I go to Mexican restaurants.
I ate the tamales here, and they had a Spinach and Feta Cheese tamale!
It was pretty good. Also look for traditional beef and innovative
cheese tamales too.

| Pelicans Wharf | Victoria, TX | |
|
This restaurant makes and excellent pork loin with pineapple
with an apricot glaze. It was like a tropical flavor, very very
good. I wish I could have had seconds.

| Manga An Asian Diner | Austin, TX | |
|
Generous helpings and very pleasant waitstaff. Interesting
decor, diner stool and vinyl, but very sleek looking, upscale.
Try the baked stuffed fish and the fried calamari.

| Koi Kawa Japanese Restaurant | San Antonio, TX | |
|
The sushi here is very fresh and very well done. The chef uses fresh
crab in his california roll. Try the crunchy roll or the tempura
roll. It is nice to sit at the bar and talk with the sushi chef, and
be sure to order a Bonny Doon glass of white wine.

| Swarthmore Pizza | Swarthmore, PA | |
|
Very, very good pizza and a whole lot of other items and entrees
on the menu if you don't want pizza. There's pasta, soups, even
fish. It's a little bit of a walk from Swarthmore College's campus
though, so don't eat too much.

| Croffutts Bakery | Bayside, TX | |
|
I'll review the bakery. There are excellent baked goods here.
Make sure to stop when you're driving and get some of the giant
sized cookies, peanut butter, oatmeal, and chocolate chip.
Or have some the sweet rolls with icing and raisins. There is a
treasure trove of raisins and cinnamon sugar in the middle of
these rolls. They're so good!

| Crofutt Restaurant | Bayside, TX | |
|
I'll review the resturant part of Crofutt's. Everything here
tastes very, very fresh. I have had the hamburgers and the shrimp
po-boy. They were both very tasty and I eat a Crofutt's whenever
we are on the road travelling. It is very reasonably priced as
you can get fries or cole slaw with your sandwich and tea for like
5-6 dollars.

| Bayou Grill | Corpus Christi, TX | |
|
I love the Bayou Grill, particularly for lunch. They make a pretty
good etoufee and the cornbread which comes with the meal is a little
spicy, which is different. My favorite thing about the Bayou
Grill is the Bread Pudding, which they make with a bourbon sauce,
it is to die for.

||
| Crystal's Restaurant-Bar | Corpus Christi, TX | |
|
Crystal's makes an good catfish fingers dish, which they serve
with tartar and cocktail sauce. More than anything, I go to Crystal's
for their Friday night 5-7 Happy Hour, complete with excellent
margaritas and a nachos buffet, it's a great way to end the week.

| Wahoos Cajun Cafe | Corpus Christi, TX | |
|
I've been to Wahoo's twice now. The service is average, and the
atmosphere is loud. The first time I went I had crab cakes, and
the rice was cold. The second time, I had a seafood/cheese sort
fondue/dip, and that was fair. I think if the restaurant improved
their service, it could get a higher rating. I have not been to
the Wahoo's downtown, however, and hear that one is much better.

||
| Small Planet Delicatessen | Corpus Christi, TX | |
|
Very good salads, pastas, soups and sandwiches. Great desserts,
cookies and tarts. I never make it for breakfast but their pastries
leftover into lunch look good too. Get "The Equator:" half a sandwich
w/ a side, your choice. Great place.

||
| Thailand Restaurant | Corpus Christi, TX | |
|
Food good, service not the best. Be prepared to repeat yourself
several times to the waiter. I have eaten here several times,
and enjoy the coconut milk soup. Beware the spices though, Thai
hot is hot!
|
||
| Souper Salad | Corpus Christi, TX | |
|
This a great place to go if you are vegan or vegetarian. The staff
might take a while to get to you, but their salad bar is good, and
they have pasta salad, fruit salad, and a potato and soup bar.
|
||
| Jason's Deli | Corpus Christi, TX | |
|
This place it pretty good for a franchise deli. There are sandwiches
and salads, and very LARGE baked potatoes with ots of fixins.
They also cater.
|
||
| Fast Eddy's Pizza & Subs | Corpus Christi, TX | |
|
Fast Eddy's makes great pizza. I think they are #2 in this area
for independent (non-franchise) pizza.
|
||
| E Z's Pizza's & Burgers | Corpus Christi, TX | |
|
I had pizza here. The sauce was basic tomato paste but the toppings
were fresh. I would eat here again, but I would try the burgers.
|
||
| Olive Garden | Corpus Christi, TX | |
|
The staff at the restaurant is very friendly and very attentive.
They will bring you as much soup, salad and breadsticks (what
I always eat) as you want.
|
||
| Marco's At Lamar | Corpus Christi, TX | |
|
This is a very nice place. It's highly regarded. I went there for
lunch and was impressed. I would not recommend going there without
a reservation and you probably want to go for a special occasion.
