| Sushi Buffet | Atlanta, GA | |
|
The idea of an Asian buffet, other than Chinese, was very seductive.
If you are fairly unfamiliar with Japanese food or sushi, it is
a great place to go taste and learn, without having committed
to one order of something and regretting your choice. It spurred
me to learn more about the cuisine so I could more bravely try more
things.

Besides sushi, they have other Japanese entrees and selections
of vegetables, pickled and otherwise.

Toyota Ya is the actual name, in case you are looking on the 'net,
or checking a phonebook to find it. I live over an hour from there
and make a regular journey to indulge in this treasure.

| Johnny's Pizza & Subs | Atlanta, GA | |
|
It is unfortunate that anyone would mention the name of a corporate
franchise in the same review as a legitimate pizzeria with New
York Italian roots.
If you're from up north, you can come in and feel at home. The
pizza, available by the slice if you wish, is on par with anything
from up there. They put the oregano out on the table, which is ALWAYS
a good sign of a pizzeria that has its act together.
The entire menu is expertly prepared and always satisfactory,
from subs to salads to parmigiana, you name it! Plus, the prices
are right!

Great food, consistent high quality for a family diner style
spot that's only open for breakfast and lunch (till 3pm).

They also sell their side items in large quantities.

| Damon's Clubhouse | Atlanta, GA | |
|
Food was good, service was deplorable. I ate at the bar.
The Saturday evening I went, they were not terribly busy. Two
bartenders in evidence behind the bar and they took their time even acknowedging me.
I inquired about a certain beer, ordered, and the bartender brings the WRONG beer.
This was straightened out. THEN, I wait, and wait, and he FINALLY inquires if I'd
like a menu. FINALLY, I decide on what I'd like to eat, and I wait, and wait and
wait, and he DECIDES to inquire if I did want to order. Both bartenders were
deplorably self absorbed.

| Max Lager's American Grill & Brewery | Atlanta, GA | |
|
Service, atmosphere, food & beer all rate! The burgers are actually wood
grilled, and you can smell the "tasty" smoke before you even arrive,
especially when on foot. They are tasty, and a great deal, as are the
in-house brews, of which they've got 6, which rotate by season or so.
They brew their own rootbeer, and also have great t-shirts available.
A rare downtown bargain!

| Hammer's Goodtime Emporium | Hapeville near Airport, GA | |
|
Nice little watering hole where the bartenders are friendlier
than the more upscale places nearby. Some of the best wings I
have EVER had; try the lemon pepper style. You can also
get a good reasonable draft here.
