| Sam's BBQ | San Jose, CA | |

Great baby backs! I also love their chicken. They marinade
it in a sort of salsa mixture. You can see someone outside
bbq'ing and waving to passerby's. The sause is a nice mixture
of sweetness and spice. I recommend take out. The inside
is small and can get noisey with kids voices. They do have
some outside tables.

| Florentine Restaurant | Mountain View, CA | |
|
I do not recommend this Florentines. I have eaten at the
one on Almaden, Winchester and Saratoga all of them have
been great! Wonderful food, service, ambiance.
This one in Mountain View had none of the above. We had
reservations for 13, they griped about the number of people
when we went to get seated, but did have the table set for
us (?). It took 45 minutes just to get our salads. It took
a total of 1 hour 5 min's to get our lunch. My pasta was
soooo bland, 2 people ordered the clams, they were rotten.
Smelled just awful, needless to say they took it back but of
course did not have time to wait to order something else because
by then we had been there for 1 1/2 hours. I will never return
even for a free meal.
I do recommend the other 3 restaurants of Florentine's I
mentioned though.

| Castagnola's Restaurant Fisher | San Francisco, CA | |
|
We had a wonderful dinner here. We did not have reservations
but were seated in about 10 minutes. We had a great table
right at the window overlooking the water. Our waiter was
very friendly and attentive. We all had the filet mignon and
fresh main lobster tail! Soooo good! When you are in the
vicinity of Fisherman's Wharf I highly recommend Castagnolo's.

| Komatsu | Campbell, CA | |
|
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The service is
so friendly and helpful. There are 4 closed in tables and
the rest are a bit close together, so it can get kinda noisey.
The food has always been very good. I especially like the
terriaki salmon. The salt green beans are so fresh!
It does get a bit crowded on weekends so go either early or
late.

| Falafel Drive In | San Jose, CA | |
|
I love this place. It's fashioned as typical fast food but
oh what food! The falafel's are soooo good! I usually take
home.

| Faultline Brewing Company | Sunnyvale, CA | |
|
I've been here for lunch quite a few times. It is pricey but
I really haven't had any problems with the service, unlike
the above reviews. The food has always been very good and
presented wonderfully.

| Eight Fourty North First | San Jose, CA | |
|
We came here for a company luncheon. Not a good idea.
Too many to feed at the same time. My chicken was raw
and some others were burnt to a crisp. I've heard others
that have dined here in the evening comment that this is
a great place. So I'll have to try it for dinner sometime
before passing judgment. Service was nice though not very
helpful.

| Bill's Cafe | San Jose, CA | |
|
They serve a wonderul array of breakfast choices at very
resonable prices. The service has always been good. You
may have a small wait in the morning on weekends but it
usually isn't more than 10 minutes.

| Coco's | San Jose, CA | |
|
Same food as the rest of the chain but the wait people
here are really wonderful!

| Florentine Italian Foods | San Jose, CA | |
|
I really like Florentine's. This one is just as good
as the rest but a bit cozier. Great pasta and friendly
staff.

| El Charro Restaurant | Campbell, CA | |
|
Expensive. The food does not rate the price. If you can
find one of the two for one coupons that are sometimes in the
Eye then I'd suggest you give this place a try.

| Mio Vicino | Campbell, CA | |
|
We really liked this place. Our friends went weekly to the
one in Santa Clara and loved it, except it was so crowded.
So we tried Campbell's and now we are hooked. We didn't have
too much of a wait, about 15 minutes, but I can see this place
will fill up fast. Great food! Good prices!

| Yiassoo | Campbell, CA | |
|
Great for a change of pace from some fast food place.
I've had lunch here several times and the food has always
been consistantly good.
|

| Zuniga's Mexican Food | Watsonville, CA | |
|
I've been going here for years and have never been
disappointed with a meal. The salsa is wonderful!
Give this place a try.

| Seto Tempura House | Sunnyvale, CA | |
|
I have been going to Seto's for lunch about once a month
for ten years. I have never been disappointed. The "box"
lunches are a very good price and the food has always
been tasty. The service has also been very good.

| Sticks | Santa Clara, CA | |
|
We had a wonderful lunch here. The prices are high.
The food was great! I had the mahi-mahi in a yellow
pepper sause with garlic mashed potatoes and crisp
sauteed veggies. The other people in my party had
salmon in a ginger sause, 2 had the new york in a
mushroom brandy sause, and 1 had the lobster omlette.
All said their's was wonderful. But remember to bring
lots of cash.

| Aqui Cal-Mex Grill | San Jose, CA | |
|
This is a great new restaurant. Casual, inside or
patio dining. Very healthy Mex-Cal food. They
use wonderful sauses and have daily specials. You
walk up to the counter and give your order. You will
receive a number and they will call you when ready.
The margaritas and sangria are also very good.
It is located in Willow Glen next to the old movie
house that is now an office/shop structure.

| La Maison Du Cafe | Los Gatos, CA | |
|
Why is this under Italian? This is a very FRENCH
restaurant. Le Maison DuCafe, right? On Winchester....
Anyway, my folks have been dining here for quite awhile
and I was taken to dinner here for my birthday. This
is the best FRENCH restaurant I have ever dined in.
The owner greets you at the door and is so welcoming
and unpretensious as is his staff. The food was absolutely
wonderful! I had the lamb special, which was the best lamb
I've ever tasted. The food portions are really quite large
especially compared to other french restaurants. The restaurant
is located in a weird place, in a small strip mall. The now
defunct Ernesto's is out front and Lady Spa on the right.
There is a guitar player on the weekends. I highly recommend!
Make sure you have reservations.

| Emile's Swiss Affair | San Jose, CA | |
|
This was NOT a pleasant experience. We had reservations for 8:00
for 4. We waited close to an hour (standing up, there are only 2 chairs).
The hostess did not even speak to us about our wait. We had to keep asking.
Also, the hostess didn't ask us if we'd like to have a drink while we
waited. We had to ask. When we did ask we were told we would be
seated shortly, another 30 minutes went by. When seated our waiter
took our wine order and disappeared for almost 20 minutes. He was
defintely not helpful with the menu either. At one point we had to
go hunt him down by the kitchen in to order another bottle of wine.
I had lamb, which was very good, another had pork loin that was equally
good. My dinner companion ordered the seafood paella. It was terrible.
At least the waiter took that off the bill (after we waited for him to
return with the bill for 20 minutes). We decided the dessert and coffee
at home would be alot more fun so we left after dinner. How anyone could
rate this a 4 star restaurant (Mecury News) I do not know. There are so
many good restaurants that are alot more inexpensive and have wonderful
service that I would never suggest anyone try this place.
