Katz's Delicatessen New York, NY
My favorite deli in California is Canter's in Los Angeles and now my other favorite deli is Katz's in NYC! We were told we had to go there while in NY so we did and we weren't disappointed. Corned beef on rye was great, as well as everything else we had. I recommend it highly if you are in NYC and want to go to a good old fashioned Jewish Deli.
Atlantis Casino-Resort Reno, NV
This hotel was very close to Circus Circus where we were staying, so we gave it a try for dinner. The buffet was excellent. Seafood lovers must go. The variety was great, service (water, etc) was super. This buffet was much better than the one we had at Circus Circus.
The Keg Steakhouse & Bar London, ON
Was just here in August, 2006. Main reason for going was to see Niagara Falls lit up at night, but the table we got did not give us the view we thought we'd have. This is a great steakhouse, nice portions, good service. We had to wait over an hour for a table, and the restaurant itself is rather noisy. My steak came well done when I ordered it rare, so they were very nice about taking it back and bringing me a whole new order. They also deducted half the price of the entree from the bill. The food was good, but not worth waiting over an hour for.
Giordanos Chicago, IL
Oh my gosh! We were told to go here if we ever got to Chicago and I'm so glad we went. The pizza is to die for! This is the best stuffed pizza we have ever eaten. We ordered two small pizza's for 3 people and they would have fed 6 people with some left over. The stuffed pizza is about 3 inches high, loaded with cheese and the best sauce you have ever tasted. No wonder everyone said you MUST go to Giordanos if you go to Chicago. I'd go back just for the pizza!
Roxy Delicatessen New York, NY
Wow..what a great deli and restaurant. We went there twice. Once for lunch and once for dessert. The sandwiches are huge and great, but the best thing about this place is the desserts. I had chocolate fudge layer cake (a bit expensive) but to die for! I ate it over a period of three days it was so huge. The person I was with had cheesecake and it was the best NY Cheesecake we had on this whole trip. It's right in Times Square which is fun too! I really do recommend this place.
Dallas BBQ New York, NY
Went here because we were walking by it. It's ok, not great. I ordered half a chicken which came with fries. The person I was with ordered the ribs. The portions are rather large here. The coleslaw was enough for 2 people as well as the fries and I could not even finish the chicken. It reminded me of fast food, but a step above.
99 Restaurant Albany, NY
Took another trip to Albany in August this year and went back to 99 to give it another try. This time I had another steak, was good, but not the best I've had. The sides were canned corn (not so great) although I was told the mashed cauliflour was great. The service is extremely friendly and there is ample parking, which makes it a nice place to go.
The Keg Steakhouse & Bar London, ON
Great restaurant, but I don't think it rivals some of the better steak houses in San Francisco. Service is friendly, portions adequate.
Romano's Macaroni Grill Rochester, NY
This place is great. We happened on it while driving cross country from SF to NY. The best eggplant parmesean I've had in years. The service was friendly and efficient. The bread tasted fresh baked and we could not get enough. They pour your first glass of house wine and then leave the bottle on the table, trusting you to tell them how many more glasses you have had. I'm hoping this restaurant is out west because I want to go again.
Michael Brother's Steakhouse Reno, NV
We went here on the recommendation of someone at the front desk of our hotel. He did not steer us wrong. The steaks rivaled the best in SF and the service was excellent. If we happen to be in Reno again we'd definitely go back.
Garage Restaurant & Cafe New York, NY
This restaurant is in Greenwich Village. We happened upon it while walking down the street looking for somewhere to sit outside and watch the people. I think we ordered the wrong things and the service was very, very slow. We had two drinks, one of which was an iced tea, and two appetizers..coconut shrimp (5 of them), and chicken quesadillas (4 small triangles) and the cost, without tip was $38.57. It was way over priced for what you got, but then again, it was Greenwich Village and it was a lovely setting. We will not go back as there are so many other places to go while there. That $10 to $15 prices is for the appetizers.
Ruby Tuesday Restaurant Minneapolis, MN
Went here while shopping in the Mall of America. I had the mini burgers and the salad bar. The salad bar here is not very interesting, having only the standard things you'd expect on a salad bar. The mini burgers are like fast food burgers, well done, not great. I doubt I'd return to a Ruby Tuesdays again.
Johnny Rockets - Reno Hilton Reno, NV
Was here a year ago and back again. It's a typical Johnny Rockets with the same menu as every other one. The food is good, not great, but good. The casinos in Reno are always busy so this is a good place to go and grab a quick, inexpensive bite.
Outback Steakhouse Cheyenne, WY
Driving cross country we wanted to try some different places to eat, but opted for Outback here. It's the same as all the others, good food, pretty good service. I don't think it's as good as some of the better steak houses we have in SF, but the food never disappoints. You get what you think you are getting and it's always satisfying.
Skylon Tower Niagara Falls, ON
The thing you pay for here is the view of Niagara Falls, not necessarily the food, although it was good, it was not exceptional. Service was very good though. If you are in Niagara Falls this is the place to go, but you don't have to eat here, you can just go and see the view.
Chick N Coop Daly City, CA
There is another Chick N Coop in San Francisco which also has great chicken, turkey, roast beef, but it's more along the lines of a fast food place, even though it's not. It reminds me of a Boston Market, but I think the chicken here is better and so are all the meats. You have a good choice of sides, which are also ok. Parking on Mission Street is not always easy, but we have never had a problem finding a space. I've never eaten in this place, don't want to, but stop and take things home on occasion for dinner.
King Wah Restaurant Daly City, CA
I do not like this restaurant. It has been a staple in Westlake for as far back as I can remember, and the two times we have gone there over the last 30 years have both been very disappointing. Seems the place is always crowded, but each time we went the food was either burnt or tasted awful. There is another great Chinese restaurant in Daly City called Jade Dragon and I'd recommend that one highly, but this one, skip.
99 Restaurant Albany, NY
Just had occasion to go to this restaurant while in Albany this last week. The place is a chain, but I did not know that at the time. The food is good, and the service was efficient and friendly. Two people were in our party and we both had steaks, cooked perfectly. The side dishes were good also. We plan on going back in a couple weeks when we are in New York again.
Houlihan's Restaurant Albany, NY
This is a chain and not a very good one as far as I am concerned. The food is ok, but not great. We had a salad and chicken, but neither was outstanding. I think this place is a step above the food court here, but it's not worth going to again. Service is ok, but also not exceptional.
Uncommon Grounds Albany, NY
I'm with the other folks. Just was visiting Albany and happened upon this place as it was near our hotel, but we prefer Brueggers bagels to the bagels here. The coffee and tea are fine here, but we wanted bagels and were disappointed.
