| Dick's Last Resort | Chicago, IL | |
|
Ahhh, the joy of paying lots fo dough for three of my favorite things:
Crappy and rude service
Ugly, stained and stenching furnishings
food that tastes as good as any meat served in a bucket.
I can understand the 'theme' of this chain-restaurant and enjoy it's originality. But after going once to this place, why ever return? The ribs are not very good, the seafood isn't much better and their fries are usually cold and wet. They save themselves with their big burgers, great location on the boat slip and fun music playing daily. I stop by once in a while to have some drinks with the rune and crazy crowds that are the norm. I just don't want to eat here anymore. |

| Le Colonial | Chicago, IL | |
|
After a three hour lunch, my guests and I walked away from this
restaurant feeling like we were just in 1920's Vietnam. The service
was perfect (even better than that even). It always felt like
we were alone until someone mentioned thay needed something,
then out popped our server like he has rabbit ears and heard our
call for help.
The food was very tasty, they use only fresh mint in their dishes
and it shows. The decor is just beautiful and if you can, venture
upstairs to see the dining room there.

| Tutto Bene | Chicago, IL | |
|
Tutto Bene is one of those restaurants on the outskirts of "Little
Italy" that serves up traditional Italian dishes. They all taste
good, but not great. I have eaten here for the past five years mostly
because of its local proximity to UIC. I enjoy the service the
most. Always friendly and never too far away. The owner often
seats his patrons, starting pleasant conversations and continuing
them throughout the night. They offer a free buffet during happy-hour
and parking is very easy.

| Twin Anchors Restaurant & Tavern | Chicago, IL | |
|
If you like waiting two hours for a table and then 10 minutes for
your ribs, then this is your place. A quintessential Chicago
Rib Joint. Nothing can compete with the family-sytle decor and
the crowded and noisy bar/lounge. Whenever a tourist comes to
this city for ribs, they must go straight to Twin Anchors. Getting
there by 6 PM will make it easier to be seated before 8. The service
is quick and simple and the atmosphere is always filled with Chicago-type
sarcasm and wit

| Ti Couz | San Francisco, CA | |
|
Very French and very relaxing - like sitting in an old creperie
on the outskirts of Paris. The crepes are very delicous with a
limitless selection of ingredents to put inside. I found that
they weren't as filling as the crepes I've had on the sidewalks
of Paris, but that's Americana for you. If you can, try waiting
for the big booth at the front window for some premere people watching.

| Zante's | San Francisco, CA | |
|
Get yourself a slice of this great curry-pizza and watch your
smile touch your ears. A great late-night snack and group dinner.
If you think Indian pizza sounds gross, then get your butt over
there and try it. You can't knock what you haven't tried!

| Star Of Siam | Chicago, IL | |
|
a cozy place for lunch and dinner. The entrees are typical Thai
dishes you will find at most Thai restaurants. The menu is the
same as Singa and Dao Thai restaurants. A good cheap meal that
is filling.

| New Mexico Steakhouse | Gallup, NM | |
|
Very relaxing place for a large portion of tasty, perfectly cooked
meat. Probably one of the most 'formal' restaurants in Gallup,
the service comes very close to what you would see in a upscale
restaurant. Located in the Best Western, this is a meat eater's
delight. Served with soup, salad and bread; you had better bring
your appitite.

||
| Leona's Pizzeria | Chicago, IL | |
|
The pizza is sub-average but they do have some great entrees on
the menu. The service is usually decent unless your server is
stuck-up (mostly the case at this Leona's location).
If you order their pizza to be delivered, expect to wait up to two
hours and get a cold slab of dough and half of the ingredents you
wanted.

| Printers Row Restaurant | Chicago, IL | |
|
You will be treated like a king here. The food is incredible. When
the talented chef is featuring rabbit, I hop right in.
An extensive wine selection and unique beers. My favorite "elegant"
date place and it's located in a great neighborhood. I average
three to four hours of table time whenever I visit.

| Jack Gibbons Gardens | Oak Forest, IL | |
|
They are consistent with their meat - it's cooked exactly how
I ordered it. The dark interior reminds me of a 1965 Chicago steakhouse.
Nestled in the woods, this is a very comfortable place for a unique,
fine dining experience.

| New Horizon Restaurant | Oak Forest, IL | |
|
Your typical American restaurant, serving everything you can
imagine. I have always enjoyed the food here and there is no better
cream of chicken soup anywhere. It cures colds!
|
||
| Carson's, The Place For Ribs | Chicago, IL | |
|
THE best prime rib in Chicago, and anyplace else. If you want a
1 inch thick, plate-sized serving, cooked perfectly every time
- then this is your place. The ribs are good, but they resemble
many other rib joints. Great place for locals and tourists alike.
Interior is comfortable, especially the big booths.
|
||
| Boston Blackie's | Chicago, IL | |
|
Boston Blackie's is the best, quickest lunch in Chicago. They
serve great meat (try the pork sandwich) and their salads are
great too. You might have to wait for a table at noon but it's worth
it.
|
||
| Chicago Chop House | Chicago, IL | |
|
I have always enjoyed eating here. I try something different
every time and I always clean my plate. Be sure to reserve the table
next to the second floor window, the best seat in the house.
|
||
| Shaw's Crab House | Chicago, IL | |
|
A bit pricey but what else can I expect for fresh seafood in the
midwest? The service is excellent and the food is always great.
I am not a big fan of the decor of the dining area, a little too dark
and crowded.
|
||
| Zinfandel American Restaurant & Bar | Chicago, IL | |
|
Perfect place to bring your mom. Lots of flowers and beattiful
interior decorations. The most original American cuisine I
have had. A large wine selection and always have a couple appitizers.
I have never left this restaurant unsatisfied.
|
||
| Rainforest Cafe | Gurnee, IL | |
|
You'd be better off taking the kids to the zoo. All the entrees
are too expeansive ($10.95 for toasted cheese? Come On!).
Never, ever eat at a restaurant that has a larger store inside
than dining area.
If you eat there and don't have kids, then what's wrong with you!?!
|
||
| Maggiano's Little Italy | Oak Brook, IL | |
|
Great place to bring a group and eat 'family style'. I love the
facade pasted on the mall. The food at all of their restaurants
is always excellent. Be careful if you order an entree just for
yourself, you'll be stuffed to the gills.
|
||
| Bacino's | Orland Park, IL | |
|
A bit informal for the prices. The food is often good but not consistently.
I am not a big fan of the location either, planted in a parking lot
and connected to other businesses.
The pizza is less than average and the service is usually a young
suburban punk that hates their job.
