Purchase the food. Sign the slip, add the tip, then check your
statement the next day and get an unpleasant surprise when you
find they have changed the amount, not down but UP. Getting it
changed to the amount you signed for is a non trivial task as you
get the oriental no speak english BS run around. Also, watch out
for the oil for anything deap fried. You get yesterday or the day
before oil so the meat tasts burned. This place is an experience
to be avoided if at all possible. It has a mixed Chinese and Japenses
menu and does not do justice to either. Top prices for both. Poor
quality for both. To much ginger on the salad when you order Japanese
(sure sign that the salad was prepared a long time ago), the Miso
soup is at best luke warm and loaded with a lot of things that pass
for seaweed, and the entree's are swimming in some kind of sauce.
The Susi is stale! What more can I say. I love oriental food and
can put up with a lot, especially in an area like CT where there
is not a lot of choice but this place is too much.
From now on we will stand the gaff and drive for an hour and go to RI. Oh, by the way, I order Sake, it was tastless and also luke warm. A perfect ending! Avoid this place like the plague!!!! |

| Duffy's Tavern | North Kingstown, RI | |
|
Service is Awfull. Duffy Makes an ART of making Customers WAIT,
and then WAIT SOME MORE. WAITS of TWO or MORE HOURS on a Friday or
Saturday Night are not unusual, they are the rule. Stop in on a
mid afternoon and enjoy a 30 to 45 minute wait for a simple lunch.
The lunch menu is SIMPLE in the extreame, to the point of being
a non menu. If you order Clear Broth Chowder and it is Clear, not
Black, count yourself lucky. The same goes for the Clam Cakes,
if the oil has been changed in the past week or two they are light,
if not you can anchor a 40 ft boat with them.
Duffy's is to be avoided until Stew can get a larger kitchen, more staff and a menu that represents the food that made this a landmark in North Kingstown. Until then it rates a minus 10. The locals Now avoid this place like the plague except for the bar flies that never seem to leave. |

Great food, great service, well worth a visit. The specials are
the best value in town. No East Greenwich foolishness here, just
great food, at great prices, in full servings with outstanding
service.
