| The Clubhouse | Huntington, NY | |
|
We have been going to the Clubhouse off and on dfor about 15 years.
It is still the best place for a consistantly good steak east of
Peter Lugers. The staff is friendly and they all seem to know the
capability of the kitchen.

| Piccolo Restaurant-Huntington | Huntington, NY | |
|
The best restaurant, with the most capable staff in the METRO
AREA! I cannot say enough about the staff...EXCELLENT! From
the Maitre'D, Dino, who tries to greet all and remembers , (I don't
know how), the regulars, to the buss staff, everyone is capable
and cheerful. Never rushed here, either.
I still don't understand how/why anyone calls this an Italian
restaurant. Yes, they do pasta well, best oil and garlic "sauce"
anywhere. Al dente, al dente. But it is really a "continental"
restaurant.
Don't be fooled by a classification, though. If the ingredients
are in the kitchen they will make "it" for you. With a smile.
The atmosphere is fine dining to romantic, especially when the
piano is being played.
This is the one MUST place.

| Canterbury Ales | Huntington, NY | |
|
"English Pub" style-no frills, just good food, generous portions.
Place is usually a bit noisy and the service can slow down when
it gets busy, which it usually is.
Great place for a burger and beer or fish and chips. Fantastic
salads, too. Never disappointing.

| Mediterranean Snack Bar | Huntington, NY | |
|
Best of the Greek restaurants in town. Short on atmosphere, long
on taste and value.

||
| Tutto Pazzo | Huntington, NY | |
|
Another really good Italian restaurant. Not your usual pizza
parlor type of food. A real restaurant, with an upscale menu that
is consistantly good.
Bring the family and/or friends this place will not disappoint
you.

| Petite On Main | Huntington, NY | |
|
Really good "eclectic" food. The warmest greeting in town by
an always smiling Gia, one of the owners. She remembers all of
the regulars, and there are many, and even the irregulars, like
me.
The wait staff is usually friendly and attentive, though quite
immature.
A vegetarian "cream"of mushroom soup, (no cream in it), to die
for. The most unusual dishes, and it works, anywhere.

| P G Steakhouse | Huntington, NY | |
|
This place had the worst, orneriest wait staff I have ever had
the displeasure of being served by. They actually acted as though
they were doing me a FAVOR to take my order and then deliver it to
the table. This was on two out of three times going there, I guess
I needed a lot of convincing. Absolutely no class!
The steak is not all that great either.

| Rose & Thistle | Huntington, NY | |
|
A bar with atmosphere. A place where the crowd seems to know one
another. More of a social drinking place than a family eatery.
|
||
| Viva Juan Restaurant | Huntington, NY | |
|
One of the "nicer" Mexican restaurants in the area. However,
the food just doesn't measure up. What they lack in taste they
make up in friendliness.
Worth a try.

| Golden Coach Diner Restaurant | Huntington, NY | |
|
I have only eaten breakfast and lunch here. They were both good
meals and offered value. Pretty much a typical "diner" in an atypical
place.

| Sun Ming Restaurant | Huntington, NY | |
|
We used to come here from Queens 25 years ago. It was one of the best
then. Now, even the food is not bad the service can be so poor as
to ruin the experience. The lady who claims to be the owner only
shrugs her shoulders and apologizes. After two of these visits,
with cold food, we have said goodbye.

| Tello | Huntington, NY | |
|
Good all around Italian restaurant. Very clean and the food is
also quite good. some of the specials are even better. A nice family
spot or even a romantic rendezvous. Service is good. Worth a visit.

| Diraimo Pizzeria | Huntington, NY | |
|
Great pizza and that is where it ends. I have been going here since
the place opened, about 15 years, maybe longer. Some of the other
food is not bad but not really up to the old pizzeria standard.

| Golden Dolphin Restaurant | Huntington, NY | |
|
I have only been here for breakfast and lunch. Not being a fish
eater the strong odor of fish has kept me away from the dinner crowd.
The two meals that I had there weree basically standard diner
fare. You really can't go wrong here, unless you expect too much.

| Golden Coach Diner Restaurant | Huntington, NY | |
|
In an earlier review I mistook this for Golden Dolphin Restaurant.
For this I apologize. This is what we typically expect from today's
diner experience. An aggressive menu with large portions. Nothing
great, but everything as good as a diner should be.

| Pomodorino | Huntington, NY | |
|
Not the best of the Pomodorino group, but good food nonetheless.
Usually too crowded and way too noisy for me. Sterile atmosphere,
harried servers. Does a good bar business.
|
||
| Julang Restaurant | Huntington, NY | |
|
Some of the specials are/were worth mention. Nice place for Jazz
one night and Blues another. Younger crowd. Not sure it is still
open...that says a lot.
|
||
| Club House Restaurant | Huntington, NY | |
|
Somebody has dropped the ball here. This is the same restaurant
rated/listed as THE CLUBHOUSE! Check the reviews there.
The BEST steaks this side of Peter Luger, consistantly.

| Bali | Huntington, NY | |
|
I guess you could call this fusion. It is sort of upscale barfood
with a hint of the south pacific, hence the name. We have been here
several times with other couples. Everyone has always been satisfied.
The portions are generous and the wait staff attentive, busy
and knowledgeable.
In the warm weather you can sit outside in an alley or on the sidewalk
of Wall Street. Neither is too appetizing to me, but both fill
up. A busy bar with a younger crowd.
Definately worth a try, something for everyone.

| La Parma | Huntington, NY | |
|
This was one of the first "family" style Italian restaurants
in the area. They take NO reservations and the wait is long, noisy
and uncomfortable. The place does a great business, I just don't
know why. It is not pricey, although the cars in the valet only
parking area would seem to say otherwise.
The food, at best, is average and the service is below that. The
dining area is loud and rushed.
I, for one, would rather stay home.
