| Italian Moon Pizza & Mexican | Grand Forks, ND | |
|
I found it to be a good place to go if you relly don't know what you
want to eat, or if you have a family where everyone wants something
different. I had mexican, and for a place called "Italian Moon",
it was decent mexican. Supposed to have an excellent buffet,
but i have not tried it yet.

| I-29 Cafe | Grand Forks, ND | |
|
Yes, it is good simply because of the overall lack of dining "after
hours" in Grand Forks... I do find they tend to treat everyone
who doesn't look like a trucker as "drunk" if you go late night,
but the food is acceptable truck stop fare!

| La Campana Paradiso Mexican | Grand Forks, ND | |
|
I was very suprised when i first ate here, and this is the only place
i will go to have "sit-down" mexican. margaritas are numerous
and excellent, even on the rocks. and the sopapillas are suprising
- worth the rest of the meal, worth going to just have sopapillas!
they aren't the typically thought of mexican desert; normally
they are thick and doughy, and only served with honey... Paradiso's
are like a puff pastry, covered in cinn/sugar, and is served with
a dish of strawberry, a dish of chocolate, and a dish of whipped
cream to dip them in! Excellent date idea! :-)

| Green Mill | Grand Forks, ND | |
|
well, never been to a green mill before, and not being a pizza person,
i still had a fairly enjoyable experience there. i had a pasta
entree that was suprisingly interesting and flavorful - the
chicken cranberry fettuccini with artichoke hearts - very interesting
combination! i ws a little disappointed with their martinis
and desserts, but they were accomodating. large portions, and
okay atmosphere!

| Grandma's Saloon & Grill | Fargo, ND | |
|
i didn't see it as tremendously spendy, but i enjoyed the food
there, even going at luchtime - i was able to have anything on the
menu, and had a bowtie pasta dish with sundried tomatoes that
was excellent, and the appetizer was good also. not my most favorite
atmosphere, but a good place to go while shopping or with the family!

| Old Broadway Restaurant | Fargo, ND | |
|
i'm sorry, but we were told at the door that they no longer served
food at all there... and hadn't for 2 years or so?

| Luigi's At the Conservatory | Fargo, ND | |
|
fairly spendy, but if you know what you are doing, can be a very
impressive first date, or say, bridal party get together, any
special occasion, or i suppose "just for the heck of it". Very
beautifully "semi-restored" decor, somewhat formal-feeling,
but comfortable. Excellent wine list, and excellent service,
even if they may not always speak the best english! :-) we got in
without a resevation, and were treated well. was satisfied with
the food we chose, but i think it is one of those places you'd need
to go fairly frequently so you can try everything!

| Maxwell's Live | Kearney, NE | |
|
when last i ate there, they still had a wonderful, but pricey,
sunday brunch buffet - if they still have it, it is worth checking
out, especially if you are staying in the hotel!

| Grisantis Casual Italian Restaurant | Lincoln, NE | |
|
this used to be our favorite place to eat in Lincoln, but the last
couple of years it has really changed for the worse. the menu has
changed, the food isn't as good as it used to be... the service
is still excellent for the area, and the atmosphere hasn't changed,
drinks and wine are fine still, but i just can't say it is excellent
food anymore. sorry.

| Fat Mc Bride's Steaks | Wichita Falls, TX | |
|
this is the best steak i have had, and the best steakhouse i have
been to. more food than most people can eat, even a good wine list,
everything! you get your money's worth here, and it is worth the
money!!

| Base Exchange | Grand Forks AFB, ND | |
|
a little below average for choices as far as BX's go, but adequate
for the area. Burger King, Anthony's Pizza, a little lunch-type
place (only open lunch hours), and decent vending machines if
you are the snacky-type person. BK is decent if you have base priv.,
due to the price, but you forgo a little on the service, but it is
BK, what do you want? anthony's is good pizza, for the price, and
to buy it by the slice is handy.

| Bonzer's | Grand Forks, ND | |
|
very good atmosphere for a pub-type setting; very good on the
old details in the decorating and use of original building charm.
high wood booths give some privacy, and the bar is adaquate, especially
if you like more expensive beers. i found the drinks to be quite
pricey for what you got, but the food was good, and you got a lot
of food for the money. and a little off the beaten path, too, for
choices. worth going to once!

| Bronze Boot Steak House | Grand Forks, ND | |
|
i have to agree. the food was good, but the "Elvis on velvet" motif
just did not sit well with me. maybe more appealing to an older
crowd, but not to me.

||
| Emerald Grill | Grand Forks, ND | |
|
this is my choice for late-night places to eat. never very crowded,
always treat you like you are a person, and not a drunk, and the
food is good, and even a few suprises on the menu!
i think the prices are good, and you can seat yourself. late night
the service isn't tremendously speedy, but then there is usually
only one person waiting tables.

| John Barley-Corne | Grand Forks, ND | |
|
this place is very convenient, being in the mall, and you can access
it when the mall is closed. good wine list. interesting decor.
decent to ok service. but they are well-versed about the food.
huge appetizers, especially the lavosh. i enjoy their salad
bar, even though it is not tremendously extensive, it always
seems fresh and in season.

| Muddy Rivers Bar & Grill | Grand Forks, ND | |
|
i was disappointed by this place, just as a bar. when you go somewhere,
especially when it is attached to a hotel, you expect not to have
it full of bikers and soft ball players. and you expect the bartenders
to know how to make basic drinks - at least most drinks. you should
not have to tell them every ingredient. but they were very friendly
and amiable. i heard no blues. just a very expensive jukebox that
only played select songs off of select cd's. strange.
