Very good Cambodian restaurant! I've been there 3-4 times since
discovering it a couple of month ago. I especially like the steamed
fish in banana leaves. Also good was their curry dishes. Also,
unlike most asian restaurant, their dessert was extraordinary!
I ordered the jackfruit rice pudding and the fried banana. Don't
miss out on this Oakland gem!

Excellent! This is probably the best place I've eaten in San Francisco!
My dining experience was very memorable! I had the tasting menu
and one of the dish, mushroom tart with white truffle sauce, was
AMAZING. George Morrone turned a simple dish into heaven! Speaking
of which, I got to meet George Morrone himself. He went to every
table asking how the food was. A very nice and personable chef!
I would go everyday if I have the money!

| The Slanted Door | San Francisco, CA | |
|
I can't understand why people compared this place to Le Cheval!!Le
Cheval doesn't deserve to be the same breath as the slanted door.
The food here more refined Vietnamese fusion compared to the
garbage Le Cheval being putting out. Yes, the portions are on
the tiny side but compared to Ana Mandaras, the price is a little
cheaper for what you get. The place do tend to get noisy (I could
barely hear my waitress) but it's not a place you would bring a
date to. Instead, bring a bunch of people and enjoy the wonderful
ambiance. Don't miss out on the fantastic wine selection also.

I don't know what the fuss is all about? I hear always hear good
thing about this place, that it is the best Vietnamese restaurant
in the East Bay so I had to go try it. I was truly disappointed. I
went with a group of friends and my girlfriend and I arrived first.
We were told there wasn't any tables available since we didn't
have a reservation. Disappointed, we left. 10 minutes later,
my friends arrived and were able to get seating even though they
didn't have a reservation also. This should have clued us in on
the service of the restaurant. Anyways, service was terrible.
Teenage waitress/waiters not caring about their job, more inclined
to stand around and talk to their friends and service. We had to
waive down one of them to even get water. 2 of my orders were wrong.
The food wasn't anything spectacular. The banana dessert was
old and stale. The only thing that was good was the spring rolls.
I was one of the worst dining experience I ever had. Go to Vi's three
blocks down. MUCH MUCH BETTER FOOD!!!

| Bread GArden | Berkeley, CA | |
|
I know this place by Breads of India. This place is the best Indian
restaurant i've been to. It's a shame they don't take reservation.
I don't know why they don't expand the place. Anyways, every meal
I had here is delicious and the naan bread are the best I've tasted.
The menu changes everyday so you'll likely won't eat the same
thing twice. I service gets a little pushy but I understand because
there a line of people trying to get in. Wonderful!

| Ajanta | Berkeley, CA | |

Pretty good Indian food. Not as good as Breads of India but good
anyway. The naan bread is a little disappointing. The price is
a little high for the quality of the food though. Service is very
good.

| Mifune Restaurant | San Francisco, CA | |
|
Excellent udon and soba noodles. The prices are very reasonable.
I usually order the iron pot noodles if i'm really hungry since
they give you a lot of food. I try to go here at least once a month
to get my noodle fix.

| Chapeau! | San Francisco, CA | |
|
This is a very good French Bistro. The food is very good and the
dessert was excellent. What really stands out was the service.
Phiippe and his staff was excellent! They were friendly and efficient.
You don't see this kind of service anymore. Also, let Philipppe
choose your wines for you. You cannot go wrong with his selection.
This man really know his wines.

| Julie's Supper Club | San Francisco, CA | |
|
Terrible!! We went with a large party and had the prix fixe dinner
menu they have for the party. I had salmon with saffron and tarragon
in tomaoto broth. It was one of the worst entree I ever had. The
food came out cold. The appetizer was better but not by much. The
Jewelees was o.k. but the beer battered catfish was soggy and
cold. The music very loud. You could not hear the person next to
you. The service wasn't bad though it felt like we were rush out
of the door. I would not go back!

| Pho Hoa Lao | Oakland, CA | |
|
The best Pho in the East Bay!! Service is o.k. but you're never
in there long enough to care. Pho is served very quickly and it
is wonderful. Don't have much choices on the menu but I think this
place specialize in Pho.

| On the Bridge | San Francisco, CA | |

For the price, On the Bridge is very good. I love their delicious
curry dishes and creative creation (curry spaghetti?). Good
place for a quick meal or pre movie meal.

| Jitr Thai Restaurant | Alamo, CA | |
|
The food here is decent. The prices are a little high compared
to other Thai restaurants in the Bay Area. What makes this place
so terrible is the service. We came here on a Monday night and there
weren't that many people. There were maybe 5 tables filled and
we were ignored for the whole evening. We had to stop the waiter
several times just to get our water filled. We even waited 15-20
minutes to get the check. I would never go back to this restaurant
again!!

| Caffe Giovanni | Berkeley, CA | |
|
This place is awful. They messed up the food on all my visits.
They messed up on spaghetti. How could you mess up spaghetti?!!
Sevice is o.k., sometimes forgetfull. Don't intend to go back
or recommend it to anyone.

| Majestique | Pinole, CA | |
|
O.K. Vietnamese food. Had better at Oakland chinatown. It's
a fairly new restaurant so maybe they hit their stride. They have
delicious spring rolls though.
|
||
| In-N-Out Burger | Pinole, CA | |
|
Good burger for a fastfood joint. Menu is limited but I don't what
the hype is all about. Foster Freeze has better fast food burger.
But I rather eat at Barney's or Fatapple for my burger fix.

| 168 Restaurant | Albany, CA | |
|
Average Taiwanese food. Food were warm when it came out. They
must have microwaved the food. Service is terrible if you don't
speak Mandarin. Excellent drinks though. Try the watermelon
juice or any pearl drinks.

| Zachary's Chicago Pizza | Berkeley, CA | |
|
Good pizza! Portions are a little small for single slices. Their
deep dishes is very good. Pizza are always very hot also. Good
place to eat if you crave pizza but I probably go to Tommaso's for
the ulimate pizza fix.

| Skates On The Bay | Berkeley, CA | |
|
Great view with good seafood. The grilled dishes are generally
good if not spectacular. A good place to take visitors to show
them a view of the City.
|
||
| Peking Garden Restaurant | Pinole, CA | |
|
O.K. food. Mongolian beef is really good though. Service is terrible
and sometime rude. When ordering for take-out, try to know what
you're ordering or they will hang up on you. Really rude service.
|
||
| Hunan Villa Restaurant | Pinole, CA | |
|
Good place for lunch. Service is very efficient and friendly.
The decor is very industrial. Not your typical chinese restaurant
decor. Food is average. Too much sauce. Portions are huge though.
