| Jade Palace | Nashville, TN | |

A VERY good Chinese buffet! The selection is large, the food is
well prepared and fresh, the service is prompt and courteous,
and the place is neat and clean.
This is a great place for a business lunch - quiet, but not too dark. |

| Captain D's Seafood Restaurant | Dickson, TN | |
|
This is one of the best Captain D's I have eaten at. Dining in or
cary out, the place is always clean and bright, the employees
are pleasant and efficient, and the food is very good.

| Pizza Inn | Smithville, TN | |
|
Usuall, when you have pizza served buffet style, you have a lot
of crust and few toppings. Not so here! The ones on the buffet are
the same as the ones sold individually, and they are good! The
service is good, the prices are good, but the cleanliness is sometimes
a bit lacking.

| Kentucky Fried Chicken | Dickson, TN | |
|
I have never purchased anything here that was not done correctly.
The service is good, the food is good, and it is clean. The buffet
is a bit limited in scope, but it is fresh, hot, and reasonable.
Dining in can be a bit noisy and hectic, but is great for a fast lunch,
and EVERYBODY loves a bucket brought home!

| High Point Restaurant | Dickson, TN | |
|
They have a buffet here that is good, but limited for those who
are watching their diet; most things are fried. The service is
good, and the prices are good. The cleanliness is a bit lacking
at times.

| Taco Bell | Dickson, TN | |
|
The food is good, but dining in is almost impossible due to the
noise and hubub. The service is good, but can get slow during rush
periods, so avoid regular lunch hours, or you will be in line for
some time. Also - check your order before leaving; I have paid
for things I did not get.

| Romano's Macaroni Grill | Franklin, TN | |
|
Outstanding service, great food, and a nice atmosphere; these
combine to make this a great dining experience.
To lead you into the meal, they serve fresh garlic bread with a saucer of olive oil into which they crack some fresh black pepper. This does not SOUND wonderful, but when you cut off a slice of that hot fresh bread, and then dab it into the peppered oil and taste it, you wonder why anyone ever puts anything else on bread. The lazagnia and Ziti is great, and their spumoni ice cream is the best I have ever tasted. Don't miss this place - not cheap, but FABULOUS! |
||
| Westside Ribs & Barbque | Franklin, TN | |
|
This is a fabulous to-go place. I always phone ahead, and they
have a stack of barbecued chickens ready for me to pick up when
I arrive. Good food, good prices, and the perfect answer for that
unexpected company that pops up at mealtime at your house -
Try their white sauce - it is fabulous! |
||
| Amerigo | Memphis, TN | |
|
This is one of the better Itallian restaurants I have eaten in.
The food is very good, the service is good, and the prices are in
line for the area. The one time we were here, they were out of some
menu items; I don't know how common that is, but it is disappointing
when it happens.

| Sams Greek Cafe | Clarksville, TN | |
|
Good food, quick, and reasonably priced. The selection is limited,
but here is a chance to sample Greek food without a great outlay
of cash.
The specialty here is the Gyros, which are good, but Try the Grape leaves - they are very good - and for desert, the baklava is choice. It is operated by nice people who do not mind answering all the questions of one who knows nothing about greek food. |
||
| Chi-Town Hot Dogs | Clarksville, TN | |
|
Yeah, that's right - a FIVE STAR hot dog stand!!
I've eaten hot dogs in Illinois. They do not hold a candle to these!! These are the best hot-dogs, bar NONE, that I have ever tasted. Loaded up with the works, one dog is a full meal! And the Hot Tomale's are GREAT! They taste like the ones you used to be able to buy wrapped in corn husks. They have added an outside table to eat them at if you don't relish (no pun intended) eating in your car. |

| C & R One Stop | Erin, TN | |
|
This is a little quick stop market with a couple of booths in the
back, but do NOT let that fool you. The lady that runs this place
is a first rate cook, and makes a pizza that exceeds any pizza place
I have ever been, with the exception of God Fathers Pizza in Pekin,
IL, and her prices are MUCH better than theirs. She keeps a pretty
complete menu here - and if you like Korean food, try her Kim Chee!
It is outstanding! This is a GREAT place to stop for a bite when
on a road trip.

||
| Hunan Taste | San Jose, CA | |
|
The food here is excellent, and the service is very good. This
is a very nice, quiet place for a relaxing meal. My only possible
complaint is that for those suffering from hypertension, it
is very difficult to find anything that did not have soy-sauce
in it.

||
| Panda House | Pekin, IL | |
|
Mostly take-out, the food is quite good, the portions are large,
and the price is right. Phone ahead, and your food is waiting when
you get there. A good, solid little place to pick up a meal quickly.
|
||
| Weavers Country Fried Chicken | Pekin, IL | |
|
If you want chicken, go to KFC. If you want fish, go to Long John
Silvers. Weavers is more expensive but ballances this out with
lower quality. Some people don't like KFC or LJS because their
food is greasy; try Weavers, and you will truly appreciate the
other two again.
|
||
| Jumer's Castle Lodge | Peoria, IL | |
|
This place is very well laid out, and the decor is outstanding.
The food is just average, however, and the prices are over the
top. The entire impression is a restaurant that attempts to be
very high class - and misses the mark.
|
||
| Spudnuts | Pekin, IL | |
|
Spudnuts are the absolute, bar-none, finest donuts available
anywhere in the U.S. The Spudnut shop handles donuts, rolls,
and coffee, either eat-in or take out. If you are ANYWHERE near
here - don't miss this! No other donut will do once you've tried
these.
The secret? Spud-Nut - spud - potato! They are made with potato flour. |
||
| King's Court By Turn | Dickson, TN | |
|
The food is very good, served buffet style. The service is very
good, and the prices are quite reasonable. I used to love going
there on Sunday after church, but have not been able to get in for
some time; they are filled to capacity. The proof of their quality!
|
||
| Dairy Queen | Dickson, TN | |
|
The food is actually OK, but this is the absolute slowest service
imaginable. The employees stand around talking while you wait
on them, instead of the other way around. If you have to eat here
- go before you are hungry; you will have plenty of time to build
up an appetite.
|
||
| Shoneys Restaurant of Dickson | Dickson, TN | |
|
One of the best Shoneys I have ever visited. Food is very good,
service is excellent, and the restaurant is always clean. The
breakfast bar is great; small pans of food which are replenished
often keeps everything fresh! Never a disappointment here!
