We have been here before for dinner, but did not like the loud live band; made dinner conversation almost impossible. Today, we tried them for lunch. Canned music, subdued, excellent food and $5.89 price makes this a GREAT place for lunch. Friday seafood feast and Saturday charbroiled steaks (NY Strip, Rib-eye) is 13.99. Seafood feast offers crab legs for $2 additional - which makes this the cheapest crab legs in the area!

| Dan's Italian Kitchen | Dickson, TN | |

Many restaurants open with a big splash, then after some weeks start cutting corners, reducing quality, reducing portion size and raising prices. NOT SO here. We have now been here three times, the third one today, and sampled six different menu items. Every one was absolutely wonderful. The quality, quantity and prices remain EXCELLENT. And do try the Tiramisu. I have sampled this desert MANY times and this one was the best I have ever tasted!

After an extended period of decreasing quality of food, this reataurant - and the entire chain, I believe - is CLOSED!!

We were here yesterday afternoon. The negatives: 1. The menu selections are a bit limited. 2. The dinnerware is plastic. 3. You order at the window, and get your own drinks from the fountain. The positives: 1. The entire place is immaculately clean, from floor to front windows. 2. All cooking and food preparation is done in plain sight. 3. The prices are very good. 4. The food is perfect, and among the best Italian food I have ever tasted. 5. The portions are generous by ANY standards. 6. The employees are very friendly and pleasant to deal with. 7. The atmosphere is quite pleasant, with tasteful Gospel music at a low enough level as to not interfere with conversations. My wife and I have sampled Italian food all over the USA, and several times outside of the USA. Dan's is among the finest we have ever had, bar none. If you want fancy dishes, silverware, bowing waiters offering to grind cheese and pepper on your food for you, go to Olive Garden. Their prices are high, their portions are small, and the food is poor. But if you want the BEST Italian food in large portions for good prices, come to Dan's! I do not know them, but it appears to be one family operating the place, and they all seem to be very nice hard-working people.

It did not last. The quality is in the toilet, and the last two times we tried it were too horrid to even describe. They have used up all their chances with us; we will never be back.

| Crown of East | Clarksville, TN | |

This is a new place, and it is FANTASTIC!! The food is outstanding, always perfectly prepared and at the correct
temperature. The selection is GREAT, always with several meats and
seafood offered. There is ALWAYS a 10% senior discount, and between
3 and 4 it goes to 30%!
The buffet bars have a HUGE Chinese fare, with piza and pigs-in-the-blanket
types of American food for those that don't like Chinese. It has
a Mongolian Grill with a FULLY stocked bar of raw foods for it; it even
has multiple kinds of mushrooms!
And off to the side, a gentleman is making Sushi that is outstanding
in variety and artistic appearance! Watch the Wasabi Sauce, though. That is the green stuff that looks like
Guacamole but will burn the skin off your tongue!

Under new management, they have RESTORED the Seniors discounts, and
the food quality is WAY back up where it should be once again.
A GOOD place to eat that will NOT deplete your funds

This one is still here, but under new ownership and no longer offers
Korean fare. The name is now Lucky's.

| Golden Corral Buffet & Grill | Clarksville, TN | |

This restaurant, in the depths of the world depression, has raised
their prices by ending the senior discounts during the lunch period.
The effect of this is a 20% price increase, making them one of the most
expensive buffets in the area. While the food is still good, they have backed off of many of their 'healthy
choice' offerings and are back to mainly fried foods.

This restaurant has changed hands, and has improved a lot. The food
is good, albeit still mainly fried, but the employees are a LOT better
and more friendly now.

| Ryan's | Clarksville, TN | |
|
We tried them again last week, but it is the last time. The prices are
higher than other buffet's in the area, and the food quality continues
to slide downward. The manager has gotten rid of his best people, apparently
in a cost-reduction effort undoubtedly brought about by the bankruptcy
of Buffet Restaurants, INC., the parent company. They are closing
restaurants right and left, and I predict this one will be closed soon.

| Fire Mountain | Clarksville, TN | |

We tried them again. After a long period of slipping quality, I expect this restaurant to
be closed along with so many others in the Ryan's chain. Cold food, low choices, and poorly grilled items. I will not be trying them again.

We went here for lunch two weeks ago. Everything is VERY good. This location
is one of the first to offer the bread-station, where you can choose
from a wide variety of breads. Also, the plates and silver are placed
out where you can get your own for re-fills, which I like much better.

High prices, poor quality food. There are several good places to eat in Dickson, but this is not one of
them.

| Montgomery Bell State Park | Burns, TN | |
|
This is the restaurant located in the Inn and Conference center in the
park located between Dickson and Nashville on hwy 70.
The food is excellent, and the prices are good, but the selection is
VERY limited, so check and make sure you like what they are having before
committing to eating here -

| Buddys Restaurant | Dickson, TN | |

We have now been here several times, and the food is consistently excellent.
If you are in the area, don't miss this place!
Head towards dickson from Montgommery Bell State Park on hwy 70, and
you will find it on the left.

The quality here is improving once again. This is now one of the better
Subways in the area.

| Golden Corral Buffet & Grill | Clarksville, TN | |

I have tried this place several times over the last two years, and have
to report that they have solved their problems. The food is EXCELLENT,
the service is great, and it has been consistent over the last several
months. They were fortunate enough to acquire some of the really good
people that Ryans got rid of over the last six months, and have now replaced
Ryans as my favorite American buffet in the area.
|
||
| Ryan's | Clarksville, TN | |
|
I don't know what is happening to this Ryans location. They have
gotten rid of several of their more knowledgeable people, and the quality
of both the food and the service is reflecting this. The food is not as hot as it should be, and the quality is suffering. We
have even had mashed potatoes that were made with sour milk, and when
we reported it they claimed it was just too much butter in them. Hey,
butter does NOT taste like sour milk.
Also, they have had a price increase. No longer our favorite restaurant!
