Well, at the Ivy Inn, it couldn’t be further from the truth. Depending on your preferences, this place can be a nice oasis from the overpriced Princeton norm. That all being said, the place is nothing more than a glorified dive full of a mix of old regulars and wayward college students. The decor is that of an old school pub, with the walls covered in beer signs and sports pictures from the University. The layout is little confusing and thrown together. When you come in, you have a pool table to your side and a carry out fridge in front of you. I guess this is to make it easier to get take out beer. The bar is against the far wall from where you walk in, on the other side of the beer coolers. In between the bar and the coolers is the men’s room. On the other side of the bar is the ladies room. And on the other side of the ladies room, along the wall, is a small dart playing area. Across from the dart area in the corner is a DJ/stage. Then next to that is the seating area that can accommodate about 20 people. I was there for a birthday party for my friend, Justin. First thing we found out is they are really strict about ID’s. One of our friends had his green card, but no drivers license. He spent the night outside bumming smokes. Second thing, there is no food besides pop corn. So if you’re hungry, eat something before you come. Third, it gets packed fast. Making the trip to the bar to get those cheap beers a bit of the challenge. Speaking of beer, they do have a good selection on tap other than your basic domestics. Lastly the karaoke guy isn’t very friendly to put it nicely, he gets upset and combative at the slightest thing. Let’s just say he was the reason for my group leaving for the night. We were told by management we are welcome back, but I feel that the damage has been done. The overcrowding was enough for me not to return, but add this guy to the mix, the chances of me coming back are slim at best. There was no food so I can’t say it’s fat kid approved. less

T ... more fatkidnation - To start off I have to say I was glad to see BBQ finally coming to Mercer county. I first saw it doing last minute Christmas shopping with a friend. That night (Christmas Eve, of course), we were in too much of a rush to stop by, but the scents were calling my name. So a few days after the holiday season passed, I brought a fellow BBQ lover, Big Rig, with me to try it out. The service was good, not that knowledgeable on the product, but she was cheery, perky, and nice, so she held up her end of the bargain well enough. The food runner seemed a bit out there and brought me the wrong meal at first, but eventually I got the right stuff. Now here is where our trip began to take a nose dive. I ordered the BBQ combo that consisted of 2 meats ( I picked BBQ beef and Carolina pulled pork) and a piece of garlic Texas toast, plus 2 sides (sweet potato fries and mashed potatoes with gravy. Big Rig got a half roasted chicken with the same sides. When my meal came out it was apparent that it spent some time under the heat lamp, and the meat had a grayish tint to it, not to mention it was on the dry side. Big Rig's chicken was the same way. That being said they do have some good sauces in squirt bottles on your table. And it was these sauces that saved the meal for us. The sides were okay but nothing really stood out to either of us. Overall the experience was nice one, even though my food got lost. The place has a nice decor to it. Now if they can only get their food to not come out dry it would be great. So even though the people are nice and the place looks pretty, due to their food being subpar, I have to say that Woody's BBQ is fat kid test but not fat kid approved. As always stay peckish my friends. less

Perhaps the attraction is the pleasant bar that is in evidence when you arrive, but we were very disappointed with the food. It didn't taste Chinese! We ordered steamed vegetable dumplings, which were soggy, strange, and salty. My lemon chicken did not even taste like chicken, and the brown rice seemed like another variety of rice. Buddha's feast was pleasant, but not extraordinary. I had a glass of white Zinfandel. This was the best thing that I tried. The noise level was frightening, and we could hardly hear each other even though we were sitting next to each other. We were overjoyed when the check arrived. We needed some quiet -- and fast. less

This is a pleasant place with quite delicious food. Entrees include salad bar, which was fresh, well-stocked, and tasty. Try the interesting potato salad. Since we were there twice, I tried two different dishes. The Hungarian Pork Platter was enormous and luscious. It includes a stuffed cabbage, two juicy slices of pork loin, and some homemade Kolbasz. This includes a vegetable and choice of potato, rice or spaetzle. On our second visit, I enjoyed the Wiener Schnitzel. What a delight. There were two tender pieces of veal, breaded and sauteed to a crisp turn. Looking forward to eating that again soon. less

The difference is not in their quality of pizza (which both are bad), but rather that I donâ€™t get hassled by Mama Celeste if I buy her pizza from a grocery store. Bambinoâ€™s Pizza has the customer service of a rabid dog, except the guy behind the counter is a fat douchebag who will yell at his staff in front of customers, which is something I find a bit classless. That whole place is below average with every aspect. If you live in NJ and NY, you have a good idea of what makes a pizza great and Bambinos is so far removed from it that it would be comedic if it werenâ€™t so sad. less
