Not for the feint-hearted, this dark bar-like establishment is as close to a national landmark as anything in Ames can be. Well worth a try if you are visiting. less

I've had better barbecue, although some dishes they do pull off fairly well. Like the Quarter Chicken dish or the cheese balls. The ice cream and milkshakes are good. It is a good place to go with a big group of friends or family and the price is reasonable enough that most people-even college kids-can afford to go. My biggest issue is having to wait in line. When I go to eat, I'm hungry now. Not something they can really help - they can't just kick people out. less
