Being a restaurant owner for 25 years I felt it was my duty and should have complained. After I got home and reviewed my ticket..I see I was charged 10.50 gratuity in the check, didn't see this at check out. I left a 6.00 cash tip, also. Next day at my online banking site I noticed an additional 8.00 had been added to my total bill, after I had clearly written cash in the tip box. So, basically I charged/paid 24.50 in tips on a 29.99 bill. I called the restaurant twice, leaving my phone number. To date, no returned call. I will never step foot in Cafe Ole again, unless it's to recover some of my money. less

The BBQ baked beans had so much BBQ sauce (sweet) that we couldn't eat them. They were not very busy, but I took 40 minutes to get our order. less

One of the few times in my life that I made the mistake of not returning the plate when the bartender set them down. Now looking back I could tell that they were over cooked in the microwave. try cutting concrete with a plastic knife and see what you get..ribs from there. I would rather knaw my left arm off than even look at the front door to that joke. I cook ribs, i eat ribs, and I also cook and eat a lot of dishes and know what I'm talking about. There's nothing special about getting charged $22 for a strip of pork jerky thats been microwaved. Its that bad. i will never return there and a lot of people ask me about food because they know I have high expectations for the food I eat and because I'd rather live than die from eating it. I agree with all other posts on here to AVoiD DEATH and find a McDonalds. By far the biggest waste of my life and hard earned cash. I too have an old boot that has more moisture and tenderness, I just hd to eat it when I got home cause I was still hungry b/c I wasn't filled up from the saw dust cookie I was served. Save yourself the trouble eat a full ashtray of burning cigarettes. Memphis is too cool of a town with better places and great people to be misrepresented by the crap they call food. What world are they claiming to be famous for good food? I say, famous for biggest let down. less

It is basically about a tourist trap type restaurant that does not actually give a good impression of Memphis food or BBQ. We were completely unimpressed with the whole experience. It is not a very friendly place for those who are wheelchair bound or have trouble walking very long distances. If you don't know any better it might be good. less

When you spend $14 for an appetizer, you expect plenty to share. Hubby and I shared the King's feast and it came with voodoo chicken, fried green tomatoes, gumbo, and catfish and rice. The onion rings were amazing and enough for three or four people! The catfish was fresh, fried but not oily, and went perfectly with Leonard's homeade hot sauce. The ribs were tender and flavorful with and without sauce. They were just as good cold the next morning! I'll never go back to touristy BBQ joints in Memphis again! less
