The selection is GREAT, always with several meats and seafood offered. There is ALWAYS a 10% senior discount, and between 3 and 4 it goes to 30%! The buffet bars have a HUGE Chinese fare, with piza and pigs-in-the-blanket types of American food for those that don't like Chinese. It has a Mongolian Grill with a FULLY stocked bar of raw foods for it; it even has multiple kinds of mushrooms! And off to the side, a gentleman is making Sushi that is outstanding in variety and artistic appearance! Watch the Wasabi Sauce, though. That is the green stuff that looks like Guacamole but will burn the skin off your tongue! less

The effect of this is a 20% price increase, making them one of the most expensive buffets in the area. While the food is still good, they have backed off of many of their 'healthy choice' offerings and are back to mainly fried foods. less

It was my first time going to a Steak N Shake, so I asked for a few moments. I only took a minute or so, told them I was ready, and they never responded back. I sat there for over ten minutes saying, "hello, hello, I'm ready!"... but nothing. However, they did leave their intercom on and I could hear the employees horsing around, so I assume that is why they forgot about me and couldn't hear me. My second experience involved the dine-in. My family and another family stood at the "Please wait to be seated sign" for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there. It was another 10 minutes before we were seated. They were not that busy by the way, and the other family lost patience and left. The floors were filthy and disgusting, all the empty tables were not bussed...I was skeptical. Our waitress was absolutely clueless, but refused to obtain the correct answers to my questions. Having never eaten there before, I asked what size the single burger was, was it a quarter pound? She looked at me as if I was the biggest idiot and said, "I don't know, it's a single patty!" When I continued to question how big a single patty was she simply said yes, it's a quarter pound (She had no idea, and it was NOT a quarter pound. It was about the size of a $.69 McDonalds burger, but I paid almost $3.00 instead). The waitress tried to be friendly, but she was very forgetful and as I said before, clueless. Considering the prices on the menu, my husband and I were expecting a nice fulfilling meal, however, no such luck. These were some of the smallest portions I have ever seen in any food industry. I paid $1.40 for five onion rings and $1.40 for the most minuscule salad I've ever seen. My husband ordered the original double. There were only one and a half patties. On top of that the food was not even near quality. We paid twenty bucks for everything and left there hungry. We could have paid the same amount at Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Johnny Rockets; and left with our pants unbuttoned. Instead, we left and went across the street to Wendy's to get some adequate food in our bellies. On the plus side, my husband's chocolate shake was decent. Tracy A.   -   This so-called Japanese restaurant has bastardized everything that is good about Japanese food. While the grill items aren’t too terribly done (mine was overcooked), the rest of the items are changed to suit the average over-weight American palate. Any descent steakhouse could out-do any number of items than are on the menu. Granted they don’t cook it in front of you while grease splatters on you or a sheen of sweat develops from the large flame that is 2 feet in front of your face, but they do a comparable, if not better job of cooking the steak. As for the Miso or Mushroom soup, it was made of either chicken or beef broth which they charged $5 or $6 bucks for. I could get a can of either for less than a buck. It was not real Miso soup. Real Miso soup is made of niboshi (dried baby sardines), kombu (dried kelp), katsuobushi (thin shavings of dried and smoked bonito, aka skipjack tuna), or hoshi-shiitake (dried shiitake mushrooms). The konbu can also be used in combination with katsuobushi or hoshi-shiitake. The kelp and/or shiitake dashi serve as a vegetarian soup stock. Outside of Japan, American or European style miso soup is sometimes made by dissolving miso in a western vegetable stock. The stock might include ingredients such as negi, carrot, potato and daikon radish. I am more than fairly certain that none of the above mentioned was in this so-called Miso soup, not even miso paste!! As for the sushi, there were about 7 options. Five of which had some kind of cream sauce or cream cheese, increasing the fat and flavor content for the unchallenged American palate. The other two? Those were deep fried, which included the local famous Clarksville roll. Need I say more? To note, I saw no actual Asian people eating there. Given the wonderful cultural mix the town of Clarksville has, this, to me was an indication and a validation that there food was in a Japanese sense, terrible. less
