You would think Texas would have a good steakhouse, and you're right. It does. But it's not this place. The steaks are not properly prepared to order. A much better steakhouse is Ruth's Chris.

Austin Land and Cattle is one of Austin's home-grown restaurants and that's what makes it great. The atmosphere is very upscale for a steak house, and they not only serve steak but a variety of other items. I found the steak to be cooked perfectly and the sauces such as a burgundy sauce were incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant for those who live in or are visiting the Austin area.

The only thing I get there is the smoked sirloin. It is fabulous and I just haven't had the heart to try anything else. Pay the extra buck or so for the ceasar salad. It's very good and has a spicy kick to it. o-rings are thin, long strings and are quite tasty. For appetizers, try the jalapenos.

This is a great down home kind of place. There are barrels of "hot trail nutz and regular trial nutz" to dine on if having to wait or just grab a bag and take them to the bar or your table. dont worry about the shells from them, just sweep them in the floor like everyone else does. I would reccomend the Smoked Sirloin!!! It is wonder full!!!! If you have a bussiness lunch or just want to take the family out, this is a MUST DINE place for if you are in Ausin.
