i went there with a couple of my girl friends and we all agreed that
Masa's is one of the best places in the bay area. the waiters
are
so attentive...they would refill your plates with dinner rolls
every 5 mins. needless to say, the food is excellent. definitely
better than fleur de lys.

One of my best experiences ever. The food was wonderful. Initialy
we
thought the portions were to small. After many courses that blneded magically together we were perfectly content.
I found the service about the finest I have ever experienced excepting Michael's in Las Vegas. Staff was righ there and we were running
late
for the show so the staff invited us back after the show for the dessert portion of our meal. We did return and even though it was
paid
they treated us beautifully and we gorged on some of the finest desserts ever.
This one is a treat!

Probably the best in the city. Everything is done to absolute
perfection. From the second you pull up to the valet we were treated
like royalty. The loster bisque was amazing. The service and
food were both flawless. I foyu have the money you've got
to experience Masa's at least once in your lifetime.

You MUST try this.
Dining at Masa's was one of the best culinary experiences I have
had. My friends took me there for my birthday dinner. 6:00pm reservations,
arrived at 5:50, the doorman quickly opens the the door for us.
Granted, The waiting room is small, but we were only there long
enough to check our coats. The wait staff is very knowledgeable
and helpful in describing the offerings. They were also VERY
attentive without being invasive. We each ordered from the three
course menu. The chilled oysters with osetra caviar was out of
this world. The filet mignon, tender enough to cut with a fork,
with maitake mushrooms, potato gnocchi, and bone marrow was
an incredible combination of flavors and textures.
One of my friends had the herb roasted lamb loin, which was cooked
to perfection and delicious.
We will be going back for the nine course for another unforgetable
experience.
Food for three, '95 Perrier-Jouet champaigne, '97 Silver Oak
Cabernet, and '77 Fonseca port and tip ran approximately $500
and three hours. Well worth it.

Have to add another postive review. Food was OUTSTANDING.
The lobster and fois gras were the most delicate and fresh
I have ever had. Personally, I do not like a wait staff that
fawns.... I want things refilled, and the timing of the dishes to be perfect, but I generally want staff to maintain their
distance. So, by my criteria the service here is wonderful. Attentive, but not invasive. The waiting area is a little cramped but we were only there to take off our coats. In San Francisco, real estate is at a premium, so I would forgive Masa's for
not having a luxurious waiting area. It is one of top ten
my favorite special event restaurants.
