We dined on a Wednesday evening and had the restaurant to ourselves,
except for restaurant family/employees/friends who were watching
TV a few feet away. The atmosphere was “average” at best. This
place might seat 30. We were informed there was no full bottle
of wine. They had no beer. "Their delivery did not come on
schedule". We had wine from several opened bottles and
found it acceptable. For appetizers we had excellent, fresh
spring rolls and coconut milk soup with chicken ("tom kha
gai"). The soup was very rich and flavorful. Its intensity
was probably due to being nearly pure coconut milk and lime juice! My entree was “pla rad prik” or deep-fried snapper with chili
sauce which made a spectacular plate. A nice treatment was fried
basil draped over the upright fish and a sculpted disc of carrot
that adorned the plate’s “fresh veggie end”. The "whole
fish" was unconventional because it was not scored prior
to cooking. It was overcooked to the point of partial chewiness
and NOT a fresh fish. It came with finely chopped red and green
bell peppers in a nice brown sauce, but no chili sauce or "heat"
to be discerned! It was barely edible and not what I expected.
FYI:I love this dish and have eaten it at more than one other Thai
restaurant and have prepared it myself. My date's main dish
was Thai Chicken with Basil or "Gai Pad Gaprao". This
was a nice dish, but a little too sweet and overpowered with fish
sauce.
We were offered free tapioca pudding, which we declined, because
our feet were quite cold, even though we were on a slightly elevated
platform! It was pretty cold in the place and we wanted to get out
of there. It was a fairly disappointing experience. I really
should have sent the fish back.... Our bill was over $50 which
was about right, since my fish dish was fancy.

I can see how they might fine on a good night or at a time in the past.
I don't understand the overly positive reviews and they
are not an "elegant" place. Just average.
