We like Korean food and have been to other Korean restaurants before. This is the first time we went to Koreana and would be the last one. First of all their food quality didn't justify their high price at all. The food is overly sweetened and boring. Now let's talk about their services. We have two small kids and they didn't even give them a bottle water until we asked twice. We went there for one lady's birthday but they didn't have anything for the birthday person, they didn't even say "happy birthday" after we told them that! You felt like they didn't welcome you to eat there. Finally, the bill. They didn't count the kids when they provided services, don't take it for granted for the bill!!! They counted the kids into the total head count and charged 18% gratuity (I do not type it wrong) automatically! What a rip off we had! No wonder why the parking lot is empty all the time. Anyway, we will never go back again. And if you really like Korean food, the Korean house on Anderson lane is way much better than this one.

A bit disappointed. I ordered pork bulgoki and instead of being spicy it was actually almost sickly sweat with a very off taste. The closest thing I can relate the off taste to is a dirty pan or dirty grill. I am certain that is not it but that is the closest explanation of the taste. The sides were fair But not great. I thought they were actually a bit tasteless. Most people I talked to came to Koreana for the Sushi which I did not try so can not say much about. I have eaten Korean food all over the world including Chinhae Korea which I lived in when I was in the navy. I hope I can find better here in Austin as this was average at best. The restaurant however is very nice looking with a dark rather romantic feeling. The service was fair but not overly attentive. For Sushi perhaps it is worth giving this a try for Korean I would not really recommend it.

We have been coming here since the begining, that was years ago (sometimes we've ate and left without seeing another customer). But that was then! Now, it's very different! The sushi is the best I've ever eaten. Friendly folks. We'll see ya'll here.

This is the first time I'd ever eaten Korean food. It was pretty good. The food was fresh and tasty, and the service was good too.

great restaurant will go there again. I just think that the service need to be quicker. But overall, it was good food, great atmosphere and good service. <br> the price I think is well within my budget but that depens on the individual.

I just experienced a world class dining experience this last

Sat. (Nov. 9, 2002)at the French Laundry. There was a group of

6 of us (cannot have any more than 6 in the main dining area), and

we all were in awe over the quiet ambience, impeccable service,

and world class menu at our fingertips. The chef/owner Tom Keller

has definitely nailed down what the human palate enjoys! A good

way to describe the service was like a synchronized ballet among

the servers, even down to the placement of the plates upon the

table. There is no music, this place is very small, very simply

decorated, and the building itself is so simple you would never

know it was a chateau relais world class restaurant. It's its simple elegance matched with food that is basically a "beautiful

orchestra" to your palate that make this restaurant, in my opinion, number 1 in the bay area. Although pricey, (our bill came to $250.00/per

person by the end of the evening), it is definitely a dining experience

you don't want to miss in your lifetime. Highly recommend it! Bon Appetit!

The first thing I noticed about this place is how quiet it was. The food is very good, though, and the price is right.

I have dined in countless Korean restraunts thoughout the world while in the military (I am a retired Brigadier General) and have found no finer Korean cuisine any where else in the United States. Their sushi is most excellent, but thier specialties are centered around traditional Korean food. The dining areas are quiet and elegant; the service is outstanding. I unconditionally recommend dining at the Koreana.

The sushi is some of the best in town (think fresh). Delicious soups , salads and my personal favorite - bulgogi. All this in a nice quiet atmosphere with friendly service.
