We moved to Austin from California, and we were used to awesome sushi. We been going to a lot of sushi bars since we moved trying to find great quality, as well as, a warm, friendly place. Well, the search is over! We'll keep coming back for more! All we have to do now is get to know the sushi chef :)

This place has the freshest, best prepared sushi in town and every Austin aficionado knows it -- which is why, in spite of its inauspicious location (on the southbound access road of Mo-Pac in northwest Austin) and less-than-stunning setting (beneath a Chinese restaurant called Chinatown), it's always jammed. A combination of Musashino's local star status and its policy of not accepting reservations means you're likely to have to wait awhile for a table, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. If you don't mind not having the entire menu at your disposal, the cozy upstairs area, which has a sushi bar and table service, but a shorter menu, is a good substitute. Be sure to ask your server what's special before you order; delicacies not listed on the regular menu are often flown in.

This is wonderful sushi. There arent too many places in Austin to get sushi, and this is definately the best place to go. The setting is nice, and the waitstaff are very knowledgeable of what is good for each individual pallet.

This place servers by far the best sushi in Austin. The restaurant has a personality that is much more real than the trendy places in town. The salmon is the best I have had anywhere, with the fatty salmon being even better. They just melt in your mouth. Almost all the Appetizers are very tasty and worth trying. The service can be very slow when they are busy. Expect to wait on the weekends.

Great sushi in a laid back atmosphere. The tempura appetizer is a must. Expect a wait during peak hours.

A bit expensive, but where can we find a cheap good quality Japanese restaurant?? In any case, it's money well spent. Their selection of sushi is quite enormous and the food quality and freshness are first class. They have one of the best unagi I've ever had. The staff are a delight to deal with. As the reviewer before me has already told you, it has no sign, which I find a bit strange. No big deal, it's the food that matters.

This place is so good, it is by far the coolest place to eat in Austin, and that is saying something since we have about 2 restaurants per capita here :0) This place will put a big smile on your face, even if you can't stand sushi. They have an excellent full bar (the waitress brought me a giant beautiful Long Island), lots of really good seaweed and seafood salads that are sure to impress anyone, and the sushi is great. I didn't try any of their hot food, but some of the gorgeous people around me were eating some, and it looked brilliant. (By the way, all of the people here are young and sexy, I don't know if it was the lighting or what.) But anyway, if you want a special treat, this is it. By the way, it is located UNDER Chinatown on Mopac, and it has no sign. So, just go to Chinatown. (I think only the best restaurants are allowed not to have signs.) Oh, also it has a very nice atmosphere. And cute waitresses, which are always nice. Try it!
