Guero's is in a cool building, and it's in a great part of Austin. That's the good part. The bad part is that the food is consistently terrible, the waitstaff is inexplicably bad, and there's always a long wait. Why waste your time on food as bad as this when there are loads of other great restaurants on South Congress?

the food is ok. dont let anyone fool you. but the drinks are strong so if you have enough of them anything will taste good. And your rolling the dice with the employees some are nice, some... well not nice. If the wait is longer than 15 minutes go somewhere else.

I'm from San Antonio and so I wasn't too impressed overall with this restaurant. The food wasn't bad but I've had better.
Still, it is in a cool location and you will have a good meal. Service can be slow at times and a long wait to get seated at others.

Mexican type of food. A busy place, but good service and food.

Not really Tex-Mex but not Interior either. Delicious chicken breast tacos. Best buy on the menu is the seniorita plate, add a side of their yummy refried beans and you are set to go.

this is not tex mex! so don't go here expecting it. it you want some pretty authintic, spicy mexican food then go here. it is a very busy and popular place so go during the off time or go early if you have young kids. it is a sandra bullock favorite...you just might see her there
