More of a venue that lives off its BBQ sauce reputation that you can find in grocery stores throughout the country. Decent food, but not comparable to the better places in the area.

If you don't like Stubb's then you don't like BBQ period. This is without a doubt the best BBQ place in the country and believe me I travel all over. The brisket is out of this world. Great atmosphere with live music all the time. Great to take the whole family to and enjoy.

Good food, great sides, nice atmosphere. They had a local band downstairs when I went and I could have done without the angst, but otherwise enjoyable experience. Somewhat skimpy on the meat, though. I'm used to big Texas servings of BBQ, you certainly don't get that at Stubbs.

A good place if you like crowded, noisy places and live music mixed with bar-b-que.

This is a great barbecue joint and live music venue.
Be sure you don't miss the gospel brunch on Sundays. Live music with your barbecue chicken and ribs. Can't beat that!!

I've been here for lunch and the service was quick once I understood you have to order first at the cashier then find a place to sit.

The brisket was decent and the side dishes good.
I wouldn't mind visiting again for music.

How do you beat a place with some of the best live music in Austin (which is a tough task, considering all the acts that come through Austin) and some really good BBQ? That's what Stubb's has to offer. Obviously, for those not into the live music scene, another choice would be more appropriate. If you're going soon, check out Russell Crowe (from Gladiator) whose band will be performing there in August.

The food is down home good. The music is even better. One of the only live venues where people come for the food. When it is wall to wall people, droves of folks are heading to the BBQ and washing their chipped beef sandwhich down with Shiner or Lonestar.

Stubb's has great live music, but it sometimes is just too loud for eating. Go in the evening, as the bbq is much better if it's been smoking all day. Used to love the fried mushrooms, but the past few times have been terribly salty. Try the jalapeno spinish. Like the back patio on nice days at sunset.

You go to Stubb's for the food, but you stay for the music. Or is it vice-versa? This is an all around great place, for both food and music, actually. The cuisine is typical Texas-style Bar-b-q, not particually noteworthy, but the bands they feature are some of the best. I've seen Japanese drummers there, Marton Sexton twice, Cibo Matto (a group of Japanese girls who rap, featuring Sean Lennon-son of John Lennon and Yoko on Bass-among others. It is really great because there is always a good view, lots of beer, AND Bar-b-q. Fun for everyone.

Stubbs is located downtown Austin. They have great food, fair prices. They have a large place and feature live music almost constantly with bands that you have heard of. A bit crowded sometimes for my blood, but hey, it's worth it.
