This is by far the best Italian in the area. Every item on the menu is to
die for. The ingrediants melt in your mouth. The explosion of flavors
is great. You need to cal ahead to get in on the wknds, but its an experience
to write home about.

Luci has a sister restaurant, Luci Ancora located accross the
street. The menu is extremely similar to the original Luci. My
husband and I hosted our Wedding Reception at Luci Ancora. They
are not normally open during the day so they were able to open their
doors to us , exclusively, for 4 hours on a Saturday afternoon.
The party required very little planning on our part and everything
turned out perfect. We were engaged on New Years Eve and married
in February so we truly had very little time to plan. We had about
70 people in attendance and served a wide variety of hors d' ovres
and a few different bottles of wine. For our wedding cake we had
tirimasu which is the best in town. We were only charged for the
food and wine using the regular menu price (no room, corking or
service charges). The service was impeccable and non-intrusive.
The food was beautiful, delicious and decidedly original. Ancora
is much more spacious than the original location and has a very
crisp modern feel to it with a fire place and an expansive view
of the College of St Catherine's campus. Both locations have
one of the most carefully selected wine lists in town. The menu
is ala carte so it gives you an opportunity to try a variety of their
artfully presented dishes. The staff is extremely knowlegeable
about wine and food preparation. The menu is seasonal so I suggest
that many return visits are required to appreciate all the flavors
that both restaurants embody.

Luci's is in my opinion the best italian restaurant in the twin
cities.Located in a storefront in a quite neighborhood of St Paul you
would not give this place a second glace if driving by(look for the
Pabst sign hanging over the door). On your first visit I would
recommend the tasters dinner. This includes tasters portions of the
appetizer of the day, soup or salad, pasta and the entree of the day
(usually seafood). My favorites on the menu are all the pastas,
anything with seafood and the veal saltembuca. They have an extensive
italian wine list. Ask your server to recommend something different
instead of a Chianti or Pinot Grigio. There are some really good wines
to be found. For dessert try the teramisu. The wait staff is
knowledable and have great personalities. The only complaint I have is
that you need to call at least one month ahead to get in on the
weekends.Enjoy!!!
