This place has excellent food, and the pastries are to die for.
A bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. I like to go and just
dine in the bar, if the dining room is full. You really need reservations
on the weekends...if you don't have them, you will wait a
while!
One of the best restaurants in Portland!

The price was a bit too much for me here. I've eaten here a couple
of times and the food is pretty good (though the quality varies
at times). Nice atmosphere, kinda classy - good place to go for
a date?
Depending on when you go, service can be pretty good or pretty
bad. Don't know why.
The pastries are excellent, and the drinks aren't bad. Like
I said, overall it was the price that influenced me the most. This
place would be fine once in a while, but I wouldn't exactly
be a regular customer.

Probably the best Italian in Portland along with Genoa. The service
can be spotty and some of the pasta sauces can be a bit boring, but
most other items are excellent. Pazzo does an excellent job with
meats and fish. If the Copper River salmon is in season, get it
no matter how the preparation. The entrees, the best dishes on
the menu, imo, can be a bit expensive, but if you're a fan of
pastas, they are a good bit lower in price. The pastas are made
fresh in-house, too, and their quality is excellent. They give
giant portions as well and two people could split most of them.
Pazzo also excels at desserts going beyond the usual tiramisus
and panna cottas. Definitely get dessert here.

Wow, now this is a nice restaurant. I took my mom here for mothers
day, and I was very impressed. The atmosphere is great, and the
service was good, especially for mothers day. I have since returned
to sit in the bar area, and the waiters/bartenders are very friendly.
Pazzo usually has some imported italian beer on tap, and it's
pretty good.
The food quality here is awesome. I have usually ordered the special
of the day (which is often some dilectible fresh salmon dish)
and have been simply blown away. The deserts are equally as delicious,
and the semi-freddo w/ strawberry-rhubarb compote is probably
my favorite desert of all time.
This place's downfall is the price. While it's no Atwaters, I've
never gotten out under $35/person, and that's without the tip.
(Of course, the specials are more expensive than the entrees
usually, the deserts are all $7 and the drinks don't help either).

Pazzo Ristorante is definitely upscale, with entrees on the
pricey end. However, the atmosphere and excellent quality of
the food justify the high cost. For starters, I highly recommend
the Caesar salad. Big chunks of romaine, croutons, and parmesan
are accompanied by actual strips of sardine. I was a bit squeamish
when I saw these for the first time, but I am daring and I have to
say the salty bite of fish perfectly accompanied the lemony tang
of the dressing, and the crunchy, doughy fresh croutons. This
was a salad to write home about! Now, about those entrees: they
are excellent, if a bit on the small side. The menu changes all
the time, so it's hard to recommend any particular dish, but you
can't go wrong with pasta...I had a wild mushroom linguine that
was outstanding, while my companion had fresh fish that was perfectly
cooked, flaky and delicious. For dessert she had a cheesecake,
while I tried an excellent lemon tart that lived up to it's billing
- very lemony, and very tart - but also, delicious. Pazzo is a great
place to impress a date and, when in the mood to splurge a little,
you'll walk away satisfied.
