There is a lot of hype about the place because of its high rating but it dosent deserve it. Though the service is excellent the food is not, the food is expensive but tasts average at best. I wont say it is always like this I could have just had a bad experiance but in my opinion its not worth it.

This restaurant is a classic example of what happens to a restaurant when Bob McMahon gets hold of it. It becomes a cheesy, plastic, cookie cutter style house with a substandard level of service. The Tack Room lost their fifth star five years ago. They lost their fifth diamond one year ago. They will be extremely lucky if they don't lose the fourth of both this year. If you truly want to experience the Tack Room, wear cowboy boots to City Grill or Metropolitan Grill. All of Bob's money is dumped into his namesake anyway, with mediocre results there as well. He knows how to make money in restaurants, but he doesn't know the first thing about dining.

Service is always good. Last time, the food wasn't as impressive as on previous visits. The meat is as good as ever, maybe better. However, on the night we were there, the desserts were uneven. Fantastic wine list.

I was not impressed. My whole life I've heard stories of the Tack room as the ultimate place to go to be fancy Tucson style. The food was average (the Steak was dry, the salad was really good though). The service was slow and the waitress seemed like she was suffering from a case of PMS. Sure the food was ok, but for the price, I was severely disappointed.

This is truley a five star restaurant, your sense of taste will be taken on a journey that will have your mind stumbling on just how to convey to anyone what an amazeing adventure it has just been on. The most outragious thing is that, in years to come, you will still remember what those taste are, yet still be helpless to express them.

I have eaten here once and loved the location - the grounds and view are lovely. The food was also very good but very expensive - For 2 of us with the tip, it came to appx. $175 which is a lot of money for dinner.
