Charles was a kooky sort of upscale place. Good solid interpretations
of classic selections. Basically was just just textbook examples
of Chateaubriand, Rack of Lamb, Chicken Piccata, etc. They had a retro
throwback jazz duo that played on weekends. The staff was professional,
but the busboys looked like they were recruited out of juvenile detention.
The place had a sort of weird time warp vibe. As if you were dining in the
coolest restaurant in the 1960s. Too bad it closed down and is now some
sort of private businessman's club.

This restaurant no longer exists. It is now a wonderful restaurant
called Stone Ashley. The only thing it has in common with Charles
is the space it occupies.
