I'm a regular at Kobe's. I think it is absolutely wonderful, the teriaki steak is to die for. And it's not that expensive and the show is top notch. Atmosphere is great and people are friendly.

I'd give it 6 stars if I could!

THIS WAS MY FIRST SHO-GUN TYPE OF RESTAURANT, I PAID MORE ATTENTION TO THE FOOD INSTEAD OF MY DATE...SO LETS JUST SAY WE DIDN'T LAST. LARGE SERVINGS, FLYING SHRIMP, ALL PREPARED BEFORE YOUR EYES. WORTH WHILE... WORTH SEEING... GO TO KOBES OVER ON BELTLINE.

Went there for our Girls night out. We had such a ball and the chef did a fantastic job. Will go again.

Always expect a wait on weekends! Luckily, we met up with our dining companions after they had waited for 1.5 hours...we had an earlier commitment that evening and so we didn't have to endure that long, crowded wait in their lobby as the others had. The food is delightfully prepared in front of your eyes, but not quite as showy as Benihana. I do, however, like Kobe better than Benihana for its food and atmosphere. Very privatized dining and dim lighting make it a very cozy and pleasurable place to dine. Great prices for the amount of quality food that you recieve.

Kobe's is AWESOME! Long wait typical every night of the week. Typical meal starts with soup, then they just keep feeding you! Lots of veggies (mushrooms, broccoli, zucchini are the norm), and generous portions of whatever entree you order. Shrimp appetizer comes with many of the meals -- shrimp is awesome also as an entree! Worth the wait and worth every penny!

This place rocks!!! It is my very favorite. As above, you will not be hungry and you will have lots of left overs for omelets in the morning. Don't forget to try there chinese hot sauce, it is the best. It is garlicky and hot hot!! Much better hot sauce than Benihana or Royal Tokyo. If you hate waites, go during the week, they take a reservations m-th!!!

The wait is long, the lobby tacky, the receptionists are rude, but it is worth the wait. Excellent food and seasoning and a generally great social setting. Once you get past the too-low lobby seats and general abuse of the waiting area... you have it made.

Price above includes drinks. The preceeding reviews are spot-on so I won't bother to repeat them. In short, the place is more subdued than Benihanna or Royal Tokyo, but in my opinion the cuisine is a class above. Get there early and ask for Charlie, their top chef. The show's not as extroverted, but the food's first-rate! (For a treat, ask him to fry up the shrimp tails for you -- no really!) If you're interested in a show, ask for Saoul (Sah-ool). Requesting Charlie usually involves a wait, even in the early evening,) so sit and relax with Greg, the head bartender. Greg's very friendly and has an encyclopedic knowledge of music. There's always somthing interesting or a little off-the-wall playing at the bar. Have a great time and tell 'em Robert sent ya!

Ample portions modestly priced and well prepared. Great show, tasty. The chef prepares the food from start to finish on a grill that is part of the counter and right in front of you. We have tried the steak, shrimp and chicken. All were very good. Well paced meal that requires over an hour. Both Kobe and Benihanna of Tokyo should be on your list.

There are several places in Dallas to get a great hibachi-style steak dinner (Benihana, Royal Tokyo), but Kobe has the best FOOD of them all, hands down. It is downright addicting! A typical meal includes a light onion broth, a salad (the ginger dressing is best), a shrimp appetizer, vegetables (broccoli, zucchini & onions), followed by your entree. The cooks are not as flambouyant as some other Japanese places, but they really know their stuff. Please give them a visit!

I guarantee, you will NOT leave this place hungry. The long wait in the lounge on Saturday nights is well worth the gret food. Every time my family goes out for a special occasion, we start out to try someplace new but usually end up back at Kobe's. Well priced and perfectly prepared everytime. A real plus if you get Charlie as your cook.

Great show and excellent food. Be prepared for unique dining. The room we sat in had a bar which several people sat around the cooking area. The chef prepares the food from start to finish right in front of you. Seems like the just keep feeding you. We had steak and shrimp and and both were outstanding. A bit unusual sitting arrangement but as the evening progresses everyone gets to know eachother and loosens up a bit. It was about 1.5-2 hrs for the full meal. A must visit!

A restaurant version of "Sho knife". Chefs prepare your food right in front of you tossing knives and food in a spectacular show reminescent of Benihanna. Food very good with beef, chicken & seafood items, and lives up to the entertainment.
