Food was average tex-mex fare, but the atmosphere couldn't be
beat. Went as a group after long day of work and had margaritas
and dinner on the patio. I've been to many a "happy hour" there,
and even in the semi-cold weather the visit was pleasant (the
waitstaff turned on their huge heaters for those of us who were
chilled!).

Venerable import from Austin TX. El Arroyo means
'The ditch' and just like the one in Austin, this
Greenville Ave. spot is also by a ditch (in this case
a creek). The food is acceptable (if not
extraordinary) TexMex. Better food can be had just
up the street at Raphael's. But the atmosphere on
the patio at El Arroyo is pleasant (when the
temperature is mild) as you sip margaritas and watch
the cars on Greenville going nowhere.

Pretty setting by a creek, nice atmosphere.
Try the barbecue chicken enchiladas. Different but good.
