Now called Tribute's. Good food and cheap for NW/Nob Hill. Order the Philly. It's a bit of a dive for the area, but the food is very east coast with lots of flavor.

Great deli style. The pizza is excellent and my favorite here. Very reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is nice. Very good sandwhiches also.

Portions are huge, and food is excellent. The atmosphere is great and it's all cause' of Richie. The downside is small and that is the sandwich prices are relatively high $6 plus but the ingredients are the best.

Walk into Richie B's, and Richie is right there, touting his fare. He's ready and willing to describe his menu, and his enthusiasm adds flavor to all his food. It's the best sandwich food west of the Hudson. There's no one item to recommend over others, everything is great. Chicken cutlet, hot meatball, pastrami, and the Italian sub are all superb. Get a bag of Wise potato chips and a Dr. Brown's soda also. And pizza!! Yes, he's got the New York recipes, best pizza around. On our last visit, Richie sat and chatted with us at an outdoor table while we watched the 23rd Avenue foot traffic (he's on Kearney, one door down from 23rd), and forced us to try his daily pizza special: eggplant and ricotta cheese on a base of special pizza sauce and cheese. Nice, thin crust. Richie himself is the main attraction. Try not to stare at his buff torso in a tight black T-shirt. OK, go ahead and stare, he can handle it. He's right out there with his New York attitude (no, people, New Yorkers are NOT rude!). He's the world's friendliest guy, making every customer feel like a close friend. Anyway, he's open 11-11, seven days. If you don't eat there you're missing something very special.
