This is the best restaurant I have ever visited. It's 5 stars in all aspects: decor, service, food, everything (excluding the wine list, which I can't comment since I don't drink). Sent Sovi's menu has two sides: prix-fixe (with or without wines) and a la carte. Since my friend and I weren't hungry enough for the prix-fixe dinner, we made our selection from the a la carte menu. While deciding what to order, a "pre-appetizer" puff pastry with avocado and cranberry cream was served. We ended up ordering a peasant risotto appetizer, and my friend ordered a pork loin and I ordered a steak. When the appetizer was served, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the chef has splitted the portion in halves and put them on separate plates for us. Then dinner was served and the tastes was marvelous. I can't comment on my friend's pork loin since he refused to let me have more than one bite, but my steak was tastefully done. It's pink but not red or black (yes I'm weird; I like medium-well steak), and it's small enough (probably 3-4 oz?) for me to finish. The accompanying vegetables were delicious too. It's just the perfect steak dish that I've always dreamed of but never have got from other restaurants. Afterwards my friend ordered a warm chocolate tart which was second only to the belgian chocolate cake served in another Fremont restaurant

innovative food, a good wine list, and great service. Reservations are mandatory as they completely book most weekend evenings

I went to Sent Sovi with my sister, who was being treated by her company (which is the only way we would even think about eating somewhere this outrageously expensive). We had high expectations because of all the rave reviews we've read. We were severely disappointed by the food, and the service was spotty as well. We started with a cold carrot soup, which was too salty. In fact, our whole meal was overly salty. I had duck for my main entree, and my sister had rabbit? Both had so much salt in it that I couldn't taste the other flavors. And the service, which was raved about here in the reviews, was nowhere near as good as was claimed. Our waitress brought us our bill before we had even had dessert. If the prices had been a little more reasonable, perhaps I would have enjoyed my meal more. Unfortunately, the food served at Sent Sovi is not worth the price you pay for it.

The food is somewhat very innovative and delicious, however,

if I have to pay over $110 for a dinner, it is very harsh on the pocket

Overrated! I had read all the hype on Sent Sovi and decided to take my wife there for her birthday. The service was excellent and thestaff was very courteous. I guess if you are paying over $200for dinner for two, they should be. The food was good, but wasvery inconsistent. We both had the Prix Fixe tasting menu and thecombination of courses was quite unusual (foie gras, frog legs, lamb loin, etc.). The wines that were paired with the food wereOK, but none were memorable. Maybe we should have ordered off the menu, but we figured the chef would be at his creative best with the Prix Fixe menu. Given the prices, I don't think there will be a next time to find out if we made a mistake.

I have read tons of good reviews about Sent Sovi so me and my husband decided to give a try. Its not bad but it is not as good as those reviews are. It was a hot Friday evening when we decided to go out for dinner at the very last moment. My husband was on a pair of shorts and when I made the reservation I was told by the manager that my husband's dress attire is ok. When we arrive at the restaurant, we were very impressed by the charming enviroment, however, we both observe that our waitor was starring at my husband's outfit which made us kind of uneasy thru' out the dinner. The manager that grreet us is very professional and warm, however, if anyone that say Sent Sovi has excellent and attantive service,I would only say she is the only one that took the credit. Our waitor was unattentive and kind of snobbish. The food is somewhat very innovative and delicious, however, if I have to pay over $110 for a dinner, I would definitely go to some places like Ritz Carlton's Dinning room where you actually gain every penny you paid out.

After reading the reviews for this restaurant, I felt that it would be the perfect choice for our anniversary celebration. Reservations were made over a week in advance and a confirmation was made three days prior to our Saturday evening schedule. On Saturday afternoon, the restaurant called my office and told one of my staff that I had to return their call in a short time or lose my reservation! Fortunately, my office was able to reach me and I called and confirmed for a second time. As our reservations were for 9 pm, we left in what I thought was sufficient time to arrive on schedule. Take note...Saturday evening parking in Saratoga requires that you arrive at 5pm to start looking for a space! Even the "Public Welcome" valet parking was full. Next, enter the restaurant and realize that when information relating to seating states 50, it means 50! The entrance is so cozy that if two people are ahead of you, be prepaired to stand outside...The dinning area itself is "cozy" as well. Do not anticipate a romantic evening unless you wish to include the adjacent four tables. Dinning on the floor of the Stock Exchange would have been quieter! After that, what about the service and menue...Happily, here is where I switch gears. The service was excellent, every detail was executed flawlessly. The entre'e and attending selections were attractive in presentation and outstanding in flovor. Would I go back? Yes, but certanly not for the ambiance!!

While looking over the bill, my friend munched one of the cookies in one bite before exclaiming how wonderful it was. I took a bite and it was indeed very well baked: slightly crunchy on the surface but soft in the inside, with a pinch of almond taste but not too strong. I ended up paying $100 including tips. It's probably one of my best-spent $100.

Excellent food and service. Order the menu (for the table), or ala carte. We had a pheasant and leeks dish (forgot the name), and a baby garden greens salad for appetizers, and both were outstanding. Then we had a halibut and fillet of beeef entree. Again, I can't do justice by describing them in detail, but they were outstanding as well. The restaruant is pretty small, and about 1/3 of the seating is on nice patio (not on directly on the street though, which is good). The service was very attentive and personal. There was always someone walking around to refill water, serve more fresh bread, swap out forks, etc. We've been looking for great restaurants in the bay area. We don't have much experience in this area, but Sent Sovi is our favorite so far.

Great place. Decor is light and tasteful, mixing different genres very sucessfully. The welcome is simple, friendly, yet elegant. Reservations a must. The choice of food is perfect with a sampling menu, in case you don't have a craving for anything particular. The food is served in an array of beautifully decorated plates, a pleasure for the eye before it delights your tastebud. Service is intelligent, friendly, unobtrusive. You feel you are part of the family immediately. A place where you feel well, eat well, and want to go back to. A little pricey for coming as often as you want, but definitely worth it. A softly sensual epicurian experience.

Some of the most sophisticated food south of San Francisco. David Kinch is extremely talented and blends some wonderful flavors. The risotto with truffle oil was fantastic. The wild mushroom soup was one of the best I've ever had. Fois grois in puff pastry is worth the splurge (no matter how many calories!). The dining room is small and charming. Service is friendly and professional. We rented the private room for my husband's birthday dinner and it was marvelous!

This restaurant has outstanding food, excellent service, and a very inviting dining room. We had an all together wonderful meal. I had the duck, which was amazing. My husband had the lamb, which wasn't quite as tasty but still very fine. Next time I go, I'd like to try the tasting menu ($42), which is made up of 6 small courses. (You can only get the tasting menu if everyone in your party orders it.) Definitely worth a try.

Momma is probably partial but I'm soooooo proud!! Our 37th wedding anniversary dinner was fantastic, the service impeccable. I recommend the tomato appetizer salmon combination. What a great late summer/early fall combination. The civit of sea bass; however is Mom's favorite (unless short ribs are on the menu). And the desserts!! The passion fruit souffle is Dad's favorite. Like it in lemon too. Mom's is the chocolate -- any form of chocolate. So try this great little restaurant and ENJOY!

The fixed price dinner entre was short ribs, and it was elegant. I got the last Saturday night reservation on Friday at Noon. Many courses, all small with the net result that I didn't leave hungry. All courses were excellent.
