There is a new chef at Domaine Chandon who has been there a little over a year. His food exquisite; each detail attended to like a master painting, from the delicate layering of each taste to the artisticly rendered menu to the sculptural elements on each plate. I urge anyone who has not been there recently to return. Not only is the chef amazing but the winery itself is beautiful.

Year in, year out, this is one of the finest dining experinces in the Napa Valley. The setting is spectacular, the service is flawless, and the food is out of this world. Best to arrive early so you have time to take a tour of the winery.

We have been disappointed. Years ago we were impressed but last time it was very unimpressive. Over priced for the experience. We do however like to go have a glass of champagne in the tasting room but we now skip the restaurant. There are too many other great places to try.

What sets this place apart from the dozens of other nice restaurants in the Wine Country is that is it not trying to be trendy or appeal to the most recent fad. My goodness, it's like France (quite a coincidence), a solid high quality restaurant that remains stable for dozens of years (unlike most flash in the pan US restaurants than open, get popular for a year of two, and then close). It is like a little trip to France. The quality of the food, service, and wine list are all outstanding. The dining room, with its open to the vineyard feel, is timeless and elegant. It's always seemed like it was worth the money to me, something you can't say about most of the restaurants in the Napa area. Hint: join the Domaine Chandon club when you are there, you get a special phone number to the restaurant, a free glass of champagne at your meal, and maybe a touch of special service (it's free to join).

I must say that I have had a very disappointing and embarrassing experience here. An associate and myself took a client to lunch, who is a lifelong Napa resident. Since this was a business event we wanted a suitable restuarant and selected Domaine Chandon. We were faced with a very rude and inattentive staff, and we had to wonder if they prefer to cater to tourists who have saved up for the ultimate dining experience. Admittedly the food was very good and the atmosphere is top notch, however the service ruined our entire meal. We first felt badly scrutinized as our guest was more casually dressed than we, but still tastefull and appropriate. For some reason we received disapproving looks, which I think is totally inexcusable. The service dwindled rapidly to totally ignoring us when it was realized we would only have an entree and possibly dessert. The worst part, however, was when we did order dessert and coffee. The waiter took a lukewarm pot of used coffee from the next table, where the patrons had just left, and put it in front of us to use. We were, to say the least, aghast! In retrospect something should have been said to the Manager, but we were beside ourselves with embarrassment as we were trying to conclude a business deal. Enough said... we won't go back, and don't recommend you do.

We found the setting beautiful, but the service was snobbish, the entrees, at almost $30 each, were without taste. They put us near a vent which was loud and drafty, and after not being prepared with a birthday cake I had asked for, instead presented a cork with a candle in it.

World Class in every respect. Food was fantastic in taste and presentation. Service was excellent and the wine selection was augmented by the waiter for an excellent recommendation. The perfect addition to a day of wine tasting and winery touring. Really waorld class...

We have been fortunate to have eaten both inside and outside. It is a getaway place with excellent food and great service. One of our servers was well versed in the various Chandon bubblies and we immensely enjoyed his suggestions.

I can't say enough about this restaurant-- the food is great, atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable, service is excellent, and the winery/tour is worth going to more than once. Our favorite sparkling wine is from this winery. It's expensive but worth every penny, and worth the drive!
