Good wine list. We had some pretty bland Fois Gras as an appetizer. My entree (some chicken thing) was delicious. My partner had the steak and it was surprisingly tough. When we asked for a steak knife, we were told it was not needed because they purchase such high quality meats. No question, however, regarding how our piece of meat was and why were we asking for a sharp knife.

Excellent place to eat with friends after work. Great atmosphere but the menu lacks options. What is on the menu is unique and very good.

Pretty good but nothing spectacular for this price range. For some reason, when I pay that much for food, I really want to walk away very satified. The space is very cool. Good wine list. I agree, The food is great and so is the staff. They do not disturb you too often and pay very good attention when you need it. The atmosphere is peaceful no matter what your age.

The wait is sometimes a little long, but that is understandable for a place like this. The food is usually always good..not as great as everyone says though. There have been some times where the service is very attentive and great, but other times you have to wait and wait to get a refill, let alone get your order taken. There is also a certain section where you have to sit right next to the person eating next to you. This is definitly not a place to go on a date. Can be very noisy.

My favorite high end place in the city. The food is great and so

is the staff. They do not disturb you too often and pay very good

attention when you need it. The atmosphere is peaceful no matter

what your age. Be prepared to drop at least 80 bucks a head with

apps and drinks but it is well worth it!!

I really enjoyed my meal here, but it is a bit expensive. Presentation is a high art here...so you will get a visual feast.

We ate here during the dine about town special last year and it was fabulous. The set menu offered a nice selection of food and I must say that the food, the decor and the service were all way abouve par. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high-end experience.

We went to Hawthorne Lane for New Year's Eve dinner. The food, service, and atmosphere were divine! A true grand dining experience. This is definitely one of the top 5 restaurants in San Francisco. For appetizers, we had fresh oysters which were out-of-this-world! For the main entree, I ordered the pork chops and my husband ordered the beef tenderloins (they ran out of the prime rib). The pork was tasty and moist - not overcooked. For dessert, the banana sundae is worth every bite! We were very content after our meal - we are looking forward to our next adventure there!

A beautiful place to eat. Excellent food in a tastefully decorated asian/western environment. One of the best restaurants in

San Francisco. Service could have been a little better though

I had an awful dinner here. The waitress was very cold to my party and didn't appear remotely interested in our dining experience. They brought us champagne instead of the wine I ordered - how do you mess that up? The food was decent, but nothing spectacular. Service was very awkward and intrusive. We didn't even stay for dessert - we left for the Ritz Carlton Lounge instead. Although this restaurant is highly recommended by many, I will never go here again.
