This place tends to get pretty crowded so be sure the get reservations in advance. The tables are close together so the noise can be loud. The food is good, but not the best place for a intimate dinner.

Generally a bit on the expensive side, but the food and atmosphere are excellent. I recommend Evvia for an occasional Greek meal.

Probably 4+. The best restaurant in Palo Alto. Be sure to get reservations. Also, get the Lamb Shank..best item on the menu. <br>

It can be pricey, but it is worth it. Crowded and a bit noisy.

This was one of the best meals I have ever had. We started with the appetizer plate which was delicious. I had the Moussaka as my main entree and the flavors were exceptional. I plan on spending my birthday here as my restaurant of choice. The service was professional. We went on a Wednesday night and it was packed. Very popular.

the most expensive lunch I have ever had and defintely not the best---two people $108.90 plus tax of 8.98=$117.88 plus tip!!!

The grilled lamb was over cooked and not good. The stripped bass was better but not worth the 28.95 price. And a bottle of

water for $7.50---you got to be kidding! This restaurant is way

overpriced and deceptive in their charges. Where is the truth in menu in prices?

Has great food and great taste. It is a great place to hang out with your friends and socialize. Not a place for a romantic diner or anything like that.

This is an excellent restaurant for a nice evening out. Good food, friendly service, and an upbeat atmosphere gives this restaurant a a good appeal. The open kitchen is also quiet interesting. The appetizers themselves can substitue for the meal. Try Ouzu (Greek

liquor) with the meal.

The food here is good tasting, although it is more mediterranean than classic Greek. The sampler plate is a good start for those who have never had food like hummus and baba ghanouj. Service is quite well-mannered, if not prompt. Food from the grill (I had the lamb chops) was quite well prepared. Moussaka is very very heavy, but hearty. The place gets quite noisy when it's busy.

Like many places in Palo Alto, this is a restaurant which would be called "classy" in other communities, although it accomodates casual dinner parties as well. The Greek cuisine is unusual enough to make it a worth while visit. The entrees are quite good, but I must admit that the appetizers and salad were my favorites. A most enjoyable dining experience.

I love the elegant atmoshphere. The one time I've been here, I was very impressed by the lamb we ordered, but only somewhat enthused with the mousakka. I will return for more special occassions to sample further.

There are very few places left in between San Francisco and San Jose that a couple can get a world class dinner for $60, great service (in & out in an hour), with a good wine list, and even take a walk afterward on a safe street with good shopping. A comparable value at other places in Palo Alto would be $100. The food is not authentically Greek, it's a little better to tell you the truth. Try the pork chops and their salads. It is a quiet romantic place. It is a jovial family place. Much better than Spago or Il Fornaio for the price. More relaxing too.

The other reviews pretty much match my experiences from two visits. California-ized Greek food, fancy atmosphere, excellent flavors, small entrees. I think the best way to eat at Evvia is to order several appetizers for the table and skip the entree entirely. The appetizers and salads taste better and are much better values than the entrees. I've been told that this also the traditional serving style in Greece though I'm no expert.

I ate here a while ago and was underwhelmed. The food was just average and not particularly "Greek". Judging from the raves of some I'd better give it another try for the chops alone.

Excellent food. I have had dinner at Evvia several times since they opened. Reservations recommended early in the week for Friday or Saturday. My favorite apetizer is calamari and the lamb chops for dinner. They have a very nice wine list of both Greek and California wines. The Greek retsina wine does not have a strong resin taste. I have also enjoyed the Lolonis Zinfandel as one of their many quality California wines. We have had some avgolemono soup the way it should be prepared and served. It is made to order and not made in a large batch to serve all day as it is in many other restaurants. The service has always been good when I have been there and the servers help each other which is good if you are in a large party and you want everybody served at about the same time.

I was not overly impressed with Evvia after experiencing the great Greek restaurants in Los Angeles. Evvia is heavily Americanized. Their American style salads are definitely better then their Greek salads. Their Taramasalata (which wasn't even on the menu) was terrible. They didn't have Saganaki. The pita was excellent. The food quality was generally high however and the service was adequate. The rice pudding was terrible. It is so far the best Greek restaurant I've seen up here, but it needs lots of improvement to become a truly good Greek restaurant.

The dinner, dessert and presentation was exceptional. The service, however, was somewhat lacking. This might have had something to do with our table, which was near the "bread cutting station", but the waiters just seemed to stare at you and waited for you to take your last bite and then they came to whisk your plate away! It was very annoying. Other than that, the meal was excellent and it was a very romantic setting.

Very, very good, although a little loud and uncomfortable when it is crowded. A fantastic selection of Greek dishes, each one with its own interesting California twist (which I guess is in line with Murat's comments about limited traditional dishes). Try this place at least once if you like Greek! I bet you'll see at least 3 things on the menu you'll want to come back and try next time.

Almost everything we had was great. However, being Greek, I have to say that the selection of traditional dishes was limited. The romantic atmosphere makes up for the sometimes-inconsistent service. Overall, a very positive dining experience...

I love Greek foods and this is one of the finest I've seen. A lot more than the standard moussaka, souvlaki etc restaurant. This is the best around. Watch out for the a la carte ordering, or the food bill will be huge.
