This is one of my favorite restaurants...and I am a self proclaimed foodie. You HAVE to order the Kadu. Everything else on the menu is okay, but the Kadu is the best thing you will ever eat!

A bit of a lenghthy wait but worth the while don't know if it was only because i was hungry but every time i sit there and wait with my stumach rumbling when it finaly comes it doesent even mater how long i waited i was happy to be eating. Good service at a reasonable price, thwese days it's getting all expensive but hey that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I haven't had much experience with Afghan food, but the whole eating experience at Kabul's is fabulous. The beef and lamb kabobs for lunch was great and grilled to perfection. The rice was also great, despite the fact that it took up most of the plate. The bread was very, very good. Prepare to take food home, because you will.

I'm actually friends with an extended family member of the owners. I've been here several times and it's always been good. Large portions, decent prices, and tasty.

My first introduction to Afghani food, and very memorable. Not only is the food excellent, but I really enjoyed the service and atmosphere. The servers were very willing to explain different dishes.

An excellent place for lunch or dinner. Portions are large and DELICIOUS. I've taken many friends and relatives to Kabul Afghan Cuisine, and they all loved it. If you're new to this place, I suggest that you order the Chef's Platter (available on the lunch menu) because it has a little bit of everything. The Afghani Tea is a must, especially in the winter, and it goes well with the Afghani bread--the most delicious bread in my opinion. My favorites are the Mantu (beef & lamb dumplings) and the Kabobs (all of them: beef, lamb, & chicken). I also like everything in the Chef's Platter. <br> Service is always excellent, and the atmosphere is always pleasant! I highly recommend this restaurant.

What a great way to end the week with lunch at Kabul. Our group of 4 had qabilli pallow, mantu, chicken kabobs, and beef kabobs. We each shared a little bit with each other and I voted the qabilli pallow to be exceptionally good. Next time, I'll get a plate as my primary selection. It opens at 11:30 and if you don't have lunch reservations, you should get there at that time. If you party size is 4, it is much easier. Seems like larger groups find lunch very popular. The restaurant fills up by noon though a Friday lite workday and rain probably kept it from filling up when I was there. A bit pricey for lunch (for me) but a real treat and worth treating yourself from time to time. And they will package up food to go for a later snack!

Just the other day, our office went to Kabul for lunch. We got there a bit after it opens, around 11:30, and were seated quickly. To try the most items, we ate our lunch family style. We ordered a mantu (lamb dumplings) appetizer, beef, lamb and chicken kababs, kadu (sauteed pumpkin) and buranne badenjan (sauteed eggplant). I particularly liked the lamp kababs and kadu. The chicken kababs was close behind. The meat was tender and subtly seasoned. And the kadu will make you desire pumpkin not only during Halloween. I will need to try during dinner time or order dessert one of these days. Very nice experience. It can be a bit pricey for lunch (around $15 for our family style dining) but nice for a special occasion.

Atmosphere: Above average to excellent Crowd: Varies Dress: Casual Food: Excellent Noise: Fairly quiet Service: Above average
Comments: I arrived quite late (9:00pm), though it would not appear so in the packed dining room. The inside of this stripmall tease is quite nice: curtains conceal you from the outside world; plush tablecloths/real napkins, darkish magenta colored chairs and such, lots of plants, along with assorted Afghan things decorate this rather lovely restaurant interior. The service was quite good. They had water already at the table when I got there and they brought both my salad and my entree rather quickly. I had the shish leek (Chopped lamb pan-tossed with carrot slices, green peppers, onions, and other assorted things for only about $15) and though I couldn't finish it, since it was HUGE, it was excellent. The massive pile of rice was seasoned perfectly and the lamb concoction was transcendent (I love to use big words that make me sound intelligent though they really overstate a simple concept). The lamb was tender enough to be split with a fork. Also, the side-bread was quite good too. After dinner, I had the Baclava. I must admit that the flavor surprised me at first but it was sweet with a wonderful papery texture mixed with a syrupy mix of brown sugar and spices. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bottom-line, for EXCELLENT Afghan food or just for a good dinner in a nice decor, I recommend Kabul Afghan Cuisine.

I went to Kabul for my first time yesterday and the place was fantastic. The interior of the restaurant is nice and has a pleasant atmosphere. Our waitress was very nice and the food was excellent (and reasonably priced). After sharing an appetizer, we had the Mater Challaw, a chicken dish and lamb kebabs. The food was DELICIOUS and it was clear that the meats and seasonings were high-quality. The portions were generous, too. I will undoubtedly return to this restaurant and I recommend it strongly!

The food here is very good and you get a lot of it. I took home enough food for two more dinners. It was very crowded and a bit loud in the room. I went on a Saturday evening and even though I had reservations, I had to wait about a half an hour. When I did get a table, the service was good. The crowd is just a sign of a good place. I don't remember the name of the dish I had...it was a meat stew with rice...very yummy.

Very good food in general. I love their Aush soup and many of the challow dishes are excellent. My personal favorate is the lamb and spinach dish. My family goes there often for birthdays. Even my "meat and potatoes" grandparents love the place!

This place rocks my kabob world. This is where the beef is! Setting is pleasant if a bit strip mallish, service is quick and polite. Enjoyable venue for canivores.

The food here is excellent. I've loved every dish I've ever tried.

It's my favorite restaurant in Sunnyvale. When friends visit from out of town I take them to Kabul. One or two have later told me,

"Bill, I'd like to come visit you again -- so we can have another

dinner at Kabul!"

Well, so many 5 stars are making me nervous! However, I guess I just dont respond to Afghan food in the way the others seem to. The cuisine is a little too dry and heavy for my taste. And I feel that this joint is way overpriced. Dont come with a lot of expectations if this is your first introduction to Afghan cooking.

Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants. Everyone I've ever taken there just loves the food even if they have never had Afgan food before. I've been dining here for over 10 years and it's like a new experience every time I go. While waiting for your entree, try some of the appetizers, they are great!

he best place. We've been going there for the last 9 years and still enjoy our every visit. All our out of town guests love the place. Food is excellent, service is also excellent. It's nice to go to the place where staff knows you by name. Highly recommend.
