The resutrant is great! Nice service and good food for reasonable price. Their goyza and ramen are my special.... Yakitori is also great. Cannot wait to go there again!

The decor in this restaurant is the same as it was 16 years ago

when I first dined there, and the worn carpet and dull paint on the walls could use replacement. But the food is at least as good as it ever was, yakitori to die for, excellent cooked foods

of all sorts (tempura, soba, ramen), and excellent sashimi

(with a very limited selection). For the quality, this is also

the cheapest Japanese restaurant that I have dined in in the City.

Well, although this is a "unique" japanese restaurant, I think it has a very good selection of dishes(although lunch time may be the best time to go for the best selection). It is mainly a noodle house. But they also have a nice variety of side dishes like pot stickers and fried dumplings and california rolls. The amount may not be large and sometimes I would have to order a few side dishes to get full, but if you want a light snack and you're in the japantown area, give it a shot.

a good japanese noodlehouse. try the zarusoba (cold buckwheat noodles). they're good, though i could make them at home any nite of the week. i tried the curry udon. that was something different. it was just the typical japanese curry sauce, but it was over udon... i suppose it fascinated me more than it should have. (gee, you'd think i'd be captivated by the idea of a "spork." it's a spoon! no, it's a fork! aah!!!! the complexity of it all!!!!) the curry is just as good over rice. don't expect a _fancy_ meal... keep it simple! the service is great. we usually get anthony; he's really polite.

The best udon and tempura I've had. Service is good and as long as you don't get the "dragon lady" it's usually friendly. Good place to go on a rainy Sunday afternoon or before a flick at the Kabuki.

The entrance is interesting but the good stuff stops there. The place is a bit cramped. The thing bother me the most is how little food they give you, at least for the sashimi dinner. Typically I get pretty filled with a $11 sashimi dinner elsewhere (say, the sushi place next to Berkeley Bowl-now that is a good value, hapy meal for me). Not this one. You would imagine the competition in JapanTown would encourages customer satisfaction but no.
