Food was ok. We waited in line for 45 minutes and I expected better. I had the tropical Thai Chicken and founf that there was nothing Thai about it. The place is beautiful on the inside and the owner and staff were very nice. Service was great. Oh, before I forget, the hot and sour soup was very good.

BEST CHINEESE IN UTAH! (And for a reason). Greg Skedrose (Greek)is master of the house although his daughter now runs most of the operation. Greg still is there greeting his long time friends and being as gracious a host as there is. While owning and operating his own pharmacy on this same corner for many years, Greg's love of the Mandarin cuisine drove him to import authentic chiefs from San Francisco's China town distric. He houses them and rotates them back and forth to maintain his talented staff. Much of the decor that elaboratly covers the ceilings and walls, was hand finished and installed by Greg himself as a labor of his love. The food continues the excellent experience with many delightful offerings to choose from. Each dish is elegantly presented with consistency and pride that represents the mood of the restaurant. Take out is available but just waiting to place a phone order may take 10-15 minutes. Inside dining, with no reservations available, can somtimes be a 3 hour wait. Most who go are willing to make the sacrifice. The line begins forming outside between 4 and 4:30 on a weekend evening for early diners. Tables are often available between 9:30 and 11pm when you get to see Greg sharing the dining experience with chiefs who have been preparing food since early afternoon.

One of the better Chinese restaurants in Utah (almost as good as my own homemade chinese food!). Expect to wait, as this place is very busy! But, it it definitely worth the wait. Good service, good atmosphere, great food! Put it on your list!!

I love The Mandarin. It has great food with a unique touch, great atmosphere, and is always busy (the sign of a good restaurant). I highly recommend the Velvet Chicken and the creme brulee.

The Best Chinese in Utah. It's worth the drive from anywhere in Utah. They don't take reservations amd it is always crowded. Go early (they open at 5:00) or late (after 8:30).
