The only good thing about this restaurant was the kind staff. However, even their caring smiles didn't make my meal any better than it was. Afterwards, I had friends tell me that I was pale. My stomach ached. The food didn't agree with me. I suggest, if possible, avoid eating here. less

Much of what they serve is "homemade" and there is a full service bar if you would like a beer or cocktail. The service is great, the wait staff, bar staff and even the owner are all very accomodating. The seating area is "cozy" and it's not hard to eavesdrop on your neighbors conversations. Overall I believe that the Pittsburgh Inn is a great place. Good food, reasonable prices and great service. less

They do contribute to the community, offer live entertainement, a full service bar and plenty of seating. The food however, well reheating frozen entrees, boiling spaghetti to serve with bulk packaged tomato sauce, or offering salads that have been literally slapped together from a second rate deli counter, does not a menu make. If you're looking for a friendly place to eat a fast food quality dinner, then look no further. less

I hail from Brooklyn and have not had really good New York style pizza since my last visit to NYC... That is until I ate at John's. Great pizza, hand tossed, tasty sauce and real mozzarella cheese. Very simple. Their sandwiches; well lets just say stick with the pizza and you can't go wrong. They need to work on their sandwiches. less

I decided to go that Saturday night and check things out. In the back of the restaurant I saw what sounded like a folk band playing rock and blues. They had a mandolin, upright bass, acoustic guitars and drums. The volume wasn't too loud and the atmosphere seemed warm and friendly. I figured I ought to see for myself if they really did have the drink special so I bellied up to the bar and asked for a two dollar import and was pleased when the bartender asked "what kind?". They have a wide variety to choose from and in this instance I decided to try a Newcastle from England. All in all the atmosphere was really comfy and the "pub grub" was tasty to my belly. I had some Jamaican Jerk dry rub wings...yummy. I've been going back to Charlie's Pub and Eatery regularly since then. The name of the band is Salmon Frank (like a fish hotdog). less
