Probably the best quality, fine dining restaurant serving northern New York, yet reasonably priced compared to city fare - two people with appetizers, entree, dessert, bottle of wine for about $140 - $160. Get reservations, it's booked well in advance during college event weekends and special holidays. Highly recommended. less

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! My son and I went into Otto's for the first time. We're from out of town and it was a pouring rain grey day, I was thinking that some diner comfort food might hit the spot. At 6pm on a Saturday, normally prime dinner time. Not a lot of cars outside but I figured it just might have been due to the weather. The young waitress was very nice and helpful. After not eating all day we were ravenous and so decided to order their larger prime rib, $16.99 which also was the most expensive item on the menu. Unlike the former reviewer... who admittedly had been there under the former owner's management our meals were sparse. The Salad was tiny and was obviously out of a bag and my son's soup was from a can. The prime rib when I ordered it I was assured that they roast it on premises. When both orders came not only was it grey, and dry... NO juices on the plate, other than the greasy bowl of "au jus" BOTH WERE COLD! The baked potato was tiny and hard.. it looked to have sat in the kitchen all day waiting to be served. And the mixed vegetables were dumped on the plate with no butter or seasoning. I thought that the whole idea of a diner was to experience homemade comfort food at a good price... not prepackaged premade and COLD AND DRY!!! When we complained we were harrassed and told how expensive the food was we refused to eat! DON'T GO THERE! less

Cheryl A. - It must of changed owners, the food there is just short of edible now, I was there two days ago, three of us tried to order, me, a hot turkey sandwich ... more Cheryl A. - It must of changed owners, the food there is just short of edible now, I was there two days ago, three of us tried to order, me, a hot turkey sandwich, till I found out the turkey was lunch meat, my sister a philly steak and cheese till she found out it was steak ums, so we switched to Italian, we were told they might not have the stuffed shells, she had to go back and ask, they did, my sister ordered them, and I spaghetti, and, gag, meatballs, the frozen golf ball type things is what it turned out to be, the sauce on both dishes had so much vinegar in it we couldn't eat it and when I ordered my salad I was told they were out of Italian dressing, it was like something out of a comedy show, won't go back, ever.............. less
