C T.   -   Absolutely Perfect! I took my Mother to the Showboat Casino for her 88TH Birthday. We decided to have dinner at Scarduzio’s. What a great choice! Everything was absolutely perfect. We started with a glass of champagne. I had ½ dozen raw clams and the SCARDUZIO SALAD with jumbo lump crab, white gulf shrimp, haricot vert, asparagus, mixed field greens, creamy Dijon dressing. My Mother had Jumbo Lump Crab Cocktail and the Maine Lobster Bisque garnished with lobster dumplings. We both ordered Double Cut Lamb Chops which were out of this world! They were cooked to perfection! We shared the Lobster Whipped Yukon Potatoes and Asparagus. The waiter heard me wish my Mother a “Happy Birthday”, and he brought her a huge piece of delicious chocolate cake which we shared. My Mother asked for coffee and I had wanted a cappuccino. When they went to make the cappuccino, the frother was not working and he asked me if I wanted either an espresso or regular coffee. I said never mind, I would be fine without. Then he went to another restaurant to get me my cappuccino! Scarduzio’s went above and beyond! My Mother said it was the best dinner she ever had; even better than LE BEC FIN her favorite restaurant. I would highly recommend Scarduzio’s to everyone! less

At Menz Restaurant the owners truly care about quality food and will skimp at nothing to please their customers; many of whom have been coming back year after year, like me. Menz restaurant started off as a roadside stand offering hot dogs and hamburgers more than 60 years ago. Over the years, the owners slowly increased the menu items to offer dinners featuring fresh “catch of the day” fish and locally grown produce. Today, the Menz family continues to use family recipes such as deviled crabs, cole slaw, and banana whipped cream. It’s hard to find restaurants that make homemade food using local, seasonal items. Most have it shipped in on a truck, frozen and ready to order. Not at Menz Restaurant; they offer sweet corn on the cob, Jersey tomatoes, fresh fish, and peaches, which are turned into everything from peach pie to peach cobbler to peach sangria’s. If you’ve ever vacationed down at the Jersey shore you know there are limited restaurants offering quality food. I mean let’s face it there’s only so many hamburgers, french fries, pizza, and ice cream one can eat in a week’s time. Guess that’s why the Menz family increased their fare to include the finest seafood and produce Jersey had to offer. There are many wonderful items to choose from the menu, like their New England Clam chowder, made with whole milk, hand shucked clams, and fresh vegetables. This soup is so thick you could eat it with a fork. My son prefers the chicken noodle soup, fresh chicken and vegetables in a tasty broth. Now I have been making chicken noodle soup for years but my son says Menz is the best….if he’s happy I’m happy! My favorite appetizer is the shrimp cocktail. These aren’t your ordinary jumbo shrimp but huge, no I mean colossal shrimp! These monster prawns are so big it literally takes three bites to eat one shrimp. Their seafood menu includes crab cakes, flounder, scallops and lobster tails, and of course there are always the nightly specials which could be swordfish or mako shark, made to order blackened or broiled. The best part of your dining experience at Menz is deciding which of their many homemade desserts to order. A crowd pleaser has always been the banana whipped cream pie. A delicacy of fresh bananas mixed into a light and airy, sweetly whipped cream. A must have that can be shared with a partner. But of course you can’t go wrong with any number of their decadent sweets. Oh, and don’t worry about what your 12 and under ones will eat. Menz’s kids menu is just as impressive as the adults. My son ordered the shrimp basket. There must have been at least three dozen shrimp fried nice and crispy and served in a plastic beach pail…perfect for making sand castles the next day on the beach! And, of course no meal is complete without a cocktail. I opted for the freshly made watermelon sangria served in an oversized wine glass, while my son ordered the super duper kiddie cocktail, a Shirley Temple beverage garnished with Swedish Fish, gummy worms, and a maraschino cherry with a pinwheel. However, it’s more than the delicious food that draws folks to Menz; it’s also the local decor. The furnishings, antiques, bric-a-brac and oddities that have been collected through the years by the Menz family are proudly displayed throughout. You can’t miss the many strange and exotic animals as the stuffed heads of deer, elk, caribou and moose are perched precariously above your head. Plus, your kids will enjoy the candy store complete with penny candy and an old fashioned candy counter. less

Salad contained putrified lettuce leaves. Should never have left the kitchen in that condition and the waitress should have spotted it before she served it. I had the cioppino ( zuppa di pesche), outstanding, a little spicy hot but truly a gourmet meal. Other party had salmon, decent sized portion, not dried out. Nice desserts. Cost for 2 with one drink apiece was $110, incl tip. All in all, maybe not worth the trip with so many fine restaurants in WW and Cape May, why take the chance. less

The prices are totally affordable. The two must have items on the menu are: The Chicken Cutlet Sandwich around $7.50 ( Great Roll, fresh breaded chicken cutlet, SHARP PROVOLONE, Broc Raab) and the Shrimp Salad around $9.00 ( HUGE chunks of shrimp, with all the best ingredients). But thats not all this place has: Great Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Crab Cakes, Pulled Pork, and the Worlds Best Caesar Salad. These are the great quality sandwiches i have been waiting for in OC. I already was starting to warm up and the aromas were to die for. We didnt wait more that 30 seconds before we were seated and greeted by our server who would wuickly become our new best friend and make us feel as if we were apart of The Melting Pot Family. The cheese fondue was made infront of us and our server Stacie told us everything as she created the best cheese fondue I have ever had! We got the Cheddar Cheese fondue. THe best part was the apples that we dipped in and Stacie recommended a bottle of wine for us to have with our food. She said that the new Big Night Out Pacific Islands had a wine flight that we should try because it compliments our food so we trusted her and tried it. The wines were amazing...if I can remember the first one was a white blend called now and Zen...great with our cheese and lettuce wrap salads. My boyfriend and I didn't know what to expect with the entree but we new that Stacie would help us out! The vegetable dumpling were incredible cooked in the Mojo cooking style pot. I love the new sauce and the Ginger Plum sauce is my favorite! We made it to dessert but didn't expect Stacie to light out chocolate on fire...she called it a flambee and said that it was good to flambee our marshmallow in our smores chocolate fondue...wow! The manager Tim stopped by and said hello. Oh I totally forgot to mention that we sat in one of their 7 private rooms. It was the perfect evening! My boyfriend and I came back the next night for dessert and requested Stacie, she remembered us and our drinks! Soo cool! The Melting Pot is the best dining expereince I have ever had and I can't wait to go back ! I am bringing my mom and sister in for Girls Night Out this month ! I can wait ! less

Mine had the stuffing coming out of the seat. The walls needed paint and the wallpaper boarders were all faded. I couldn't believe how run down the place appeared. This guy is getting away with murder, high prices and not putting a cent back into the place. Bathrooms appeared clean, but smelled musty. We won't be returning anytime soon.. less
