However, i still eat here. if you are hungry at 2 am and in Baltimore, it is worth the trip. Bookmaker is a staple and very good, although has gotten smaller over time. I dont know if the budget has changed because I really use to love this place but the quality of the beef and the cook of the lo mein is not what it used to be. the egg rolls are skimpy now too. As a consumer I dont feel my dollars are more important then the next man. I've witnessed on several occasions the outright rude treatment of black customers. (which I ordered a spicy tofu soup from and was pleased with). my girlfriend got the teriyaki and loved it. she said it was the best she's ever had.; ONE WITH STANDARD SUSHI (skipped) ; and ONE WITH THEIR SPECIAL ROLLS (everything off this menu seemed ordinary sushi restaurant type rolls...but boy was i surprised) I told the chef what kind of sushi i liked. (You should do this too) You should tell him what you tried before, and what you liked, what you didn't like. Then you tell him what you want from the menu...and he will make his versions of them. i guarantee you will love it. Don't bother with the standard sushi menu they have. Don't order a sushi boat like a NEWBIE! And in the end, make sure you try their mango smoothie. It's almost worth going there just for their smoothie! less

The bouncer threw my little brother out of the bar, punched him twice and my other brother twice as well. However, neither of them tried to attack the bouncer. The bouncer broke my brothers jaw in two places, given a concussion, and knocked out cold for quite a bit. Then, good old baltimore cops, wouldn't let anyone file a police report to press charges, giving them the run around. Good old baltimore. disgusting. Don't go to Pickles Pub, you're more than likely going to get into an altercation with people there and their staff. less

There is plenty of sweet sauce and loads of CHEESE that bubbles and browns. Top it all off with a generous (but not dominating) portion of pepperoni that CURLS 'cause it cooked all the way through. The prices are reasonable and the service is good, never had and issue. Oh yeah, and the atmosphere is great. It's nothing fancy but it clean and well kept. Your classic neighborhood institution. It's the sort of place where if you live in the area that you are bound to run into someone you know. less

I found this restaurant in the yellow pages and called to get more information (is it dine in, carry out, menu, prices, etc.) as I was thinking about taking my husband there for dinner. A woman (and I use the term loosely) with a West-Indian accent answered the phone--basically yelled the mumbled greeting--and as I was asking my first question she just hung up--slammed the phone down. I thought perhaps it was an accident so I called right back only to have this woman yell in my ear that they were busy and I should call back later. She then slammed the phone down again. So, although I have never tried the food there--and at this point, I never will--and regardless of the fact that this program will give you an error message if you don't select at leat one star, I will have to give this "restaurant" 0 stars!!!! There is NO WAY I would eat anything from an establishment were the owner or employees have such horrible manners and unprofessional antics. If this woman is handling any food there, can you imagine the negative vibes and energy that goes into the food? Would you want this kind of hatred and intollerance served up to your family? You decide... less
