ravinglog   -   I had a more in-depth review but this website timed me out without saving my work. The reviewers who came in 2000 and 2003 are spot on for their time period. Unfortunately the nice people who used to be there are gone and rude wait staff have replaced them. I started going in 2005 and loved the place until about two or three years ago. We had one bad experience and thought it an aberration. Two more in a row and we have now concluded that this place is no longer the cherished treat. When I say rude wait staff, I mean it. The second of the three bad trips, I asked to see a manager it was so bad. The manager was in the back and would not see me. The entire staff now does not seem to care if you eat there or never come again. The food is still very good for the most part. The supper desserts are not thawed as long as they should be. If you eat supper early and get a piece of cake, you may as well try to slice through a piece of ice. The hot food still delivers. However the absence of the nice people who used to be there, make you feel welcome, spoke to the children with genuine affection, took care of your needs with sincerity, and remembered your face when you came back, has turned this restaurant into a place that I want to avoid. I may go back someday when my nostalgic side wants to believe it will be as it was in 2005 to about 2009. I have a feeling that when it wins over my thinking mind and I do go back with my family, I will again spend considerable money and be disappointed. less

Sprinkles   -   I couldn't find any recent reviews on this restaurant, but we decided to take a chance on it anyway, and we're really glad we did! Full adult buffet for only 7.99, and it included all kinds of various different main dishes, veggies, and sides; and also appetizers and soup, and the usual chinese "desserts" and salad. We loaded up our plates and went back for a second helping. Totally satisfying. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and when I wanted more of something that was getting low, I simply asked about it, and they brought more fresh out shortly. Great experience! Will return again and again. less

It took 45 minutes to get our food, so we asked to speak to the Manager to find out what the issue was. When the "Manager" came over, he seemed out of sorts. He said, with hands flailing, "Your food is being taken care of, we are covering the bill." and then he hurried off, not allowing us to say a thing. My husband tried to ask for fresh fries, but he only rushed off, shaking his head. We asked to speak with the owner (who happens to be the "Manager's" mom.) She spent the entire time giving excuses for the "stress" her son was under because of how busy it was. Really? If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen, literally!! You NEVER make excuses for your inadequacies--you need to apologize, move on, and learn how you can serve your customer better in the future. The son Manager saw us talking to his mom, and he proceeds to try to argue with us, calling us stupid, waving us off with his hands! It truly was an experience. I have never been treated so horribly, just for asking for hot fries. The "Manager" would have been fired on the spot in any other restaurant. I don't care how busy you are, if a customer's food takes 45 minutes to get, and it typically takes 20, then you, as the owner/manager should be apologizing and asking what you can get for me. We are very accepting of longer wait times (we have at this restaraunt before-and didn't complain), but what really sets this experience apart, was the behavior of the "manager." Quite honestly, I am in shock. We used to come here at least 2 Sundays a month, after Church. NEVER AGAIN. less

Please feel free to email me at kzrider76@live.com for comments or questions I have a negative comment about this location. I just wanted a chicken fillet sandwich, fries, and a drink. All three items I have an issue with. First I wanted a Chicken Sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and onion. The drive thru attendant first informed me that no tomatoes are available because they are not in season, onions are not an option and lettuce is optional with pickles. I promptly commented that a sandwich without a tomato, onion, and lettuce is not a sandwich. Again the teller reminded me that those condiments are not available even though the picture of the sandwich clearly includes a tomato and lettuce and I assume an onion. I paid full price for a greasy fillet that 4 hours after the meal was still giving me heart burn. No other condiments were added to the order even though I asked for light on the mayonnaise. The fries were another issue. No ketchup even though I asked for some. The ice tea cup was full of ice and about two gulps of actual tea product. So here is my gripe….why does chick-fil-a advertise a hamburger alternative that is nothing more than a slab of chicken on a bun? I live in an area that is classified by the CDC as the unhealthiest region in the country. A recent reality tv show aired in this area demonstrating how unhealthy the tri-state region is. The host did this by holding up a tomato to a group of grade school children of which none could identify the fruit as a tomato. Apparently the manager of this chic-fillet does not know what a tomato looks like either! I’m appalled even for a fast food dive that your company is too cheap to add tomatoes to the menu. I will not patronize your chicken joint ever again. I plan to bring up my terrible experience to my co-workers and friends in an effort to steer away future customers from an establishment that at least has no desire to add the simplest of American condiments to its menu. Chick-fil-a is not a marginally more- healthy alternative to a burger joint. I wish your company would stop advertising as one. Oh and FYI, the 24/7 Wal- Mart 300 yards away from the chicken-parody has plenty of tomatoes for sale that the cheap-skate manager could of utilized as an emergency back-up source for any of his tomato dilemmas. What would make me a little happier is a refund for the difference of the cost of the lettuce, tomato and onion that is ubiquitous for every other fast food restaurant in the country. Since all I got was three flimsily pickles I would like an additional apology for the insult that this restaurant gave me. I feel this establishment was saying here is your chicken guts sandwich take it or leave it. What are you complaining about? We gave you pickles! goodbye and don’t let the heartburn keep you up all night. I’ve never complained about fast food before- I rarely eat the garbage but this was an over the top- piss off the customers and send us on our way. I could just feel the smug from the three attendants that I commented to with the manager in the background looking at me like I was an idiot for asking for simple additions to my sandwich. I think its my fast food sandwich rite in this country to have the option for the three basic tenets of an American sandwich. Heck when I was in Uzbekistan, north of Afghanistan fighting insurgents after 9-11 in the military we were able to purchase lamb burgers with lettuce, tomatoes and an onions from a local vender catering to the US military…I guess its Uzbekistan who is backwards for offering the items that I expect and crave in a sandwich… Anyway no one is going to read this other than a low level employee who is probably outsourced in India to answer customer complaints….I dare you to contact me on this issue- In the mean time I’m going to the quickie mart and purchase antacids for the damage your product had done to my stomach. Maybe I might get some sleep and have a mediocre day- but I doubt it! less

I enjoyed the low key atmosphere and the staff were all very friendly to us, and even though we hung out for a while we didn't feel rushed to leave like I have seen in other places.. The food came fast, and there was a lot of it! Try a burger if you want a lot of food for a good value. The bar is great too, all around a good experience. less

Most people come here for a special occasion, and don't think much about the food. Most of the entrees are returned to the kitchen half eaten or not eaten at all, They also comp a lot of meals to save face. The chef thinks that FROG LEGS are good enough to put as the special of the night. The desserts are bought not made there. Their Sunday brunch is terrible and HIGH PRICED!! Don't waste your money, go up, look at the view, and say, "nah...we'll go somewhere else tonight." You'll thanks me. less

Sam M.   -   Last week we had a guest who wanted to enjoy some a Japanese meal. We often go to Tachibana for Shabu Shabu. It's usually a fun dish that westerners can identify with even if they are squeamish about sushi but want to do something more adventurous than the hibachi. We ordered the Shabu Shabu (should be paper thin pieces of high quality beef). When it came it was tough and the cut was way too thick. We complained to the waitress and she did not address the issue other than to say "we serve good quality meat". Since we had a guest I didn't want to make a big deal. So, I wrote a letter to the management. I was very disappointed with the reply from management. Sad to say, I haven't found another place to take guests for Shabu Shabu in Lexington. My recommendation is go somewhere else that cares more about customer satisfaction. less
