OpinionDivulger   -   I feel very privledged to live within driving distance of this exemplary chinese take-out establishment. Some people believe that most chinese food tastes similar, but I know for a fact that this particular place is head and shoulders above all others in the area (at least). How do I know this? When I was younger and tried chinese cuisine for the first time, I was enamored by it. I made it my mission to try every chinese place in my general vicinity. Admittedly, this is a dubious achievement at best, but after having sampled the foods of all those different places, I can say with confidence that China Wok will dazzle you compared to the competition. Like most chinese take-outs and restaurants, their menu is extensive; there is something for almost everyone, not to mention their prices are lower than or equal to the alternatives, especially when you factor in the high quality and large amount of food you get for the money. From their standard fare to their specialties, virtually all of their dishes are delicious. If you are a fan of the traditional "brown sauce," you will be sure to enjoy theirs. Their Chicken with Mixed Vegetables and their Beef with Broccoli both have cantonese brown sauce on them and they are both mouth-watering. For those that are fans of General Tso's Chicken, you are sure to be happy as well. Some people may not like the fact that they use 100% dark meat in the dish, but I personally enjoy how tender the chicken chunks are, plus the chunks are never dry. The familiar egg/cornstarch batter on the chicken has a nice, crispy texure. Their broccoli (as well as all vegetables they use in all their dishes) is fresh and tasty. As for the General Tso's sauce, in my humblest of opinions, it is one of the best I have ever tasted. Spicy but not too spicy and full of hunan flavor. One more thing I would like to point out is how absolutely wonderful their pork dishes are. If you like pork, there are three dishes that you simply must try: their Steamed Pork Dumplings (tender and juicy with delicious seasonings inside; comes with a tantalizing dipping sauce), their Roast Pork Fried Rice (I don't know how they roast it, but the flavor is out of this world and I've never eaten better pork fried rice anywhere else in my life) and their Roast Pork Egg Roll (again, the roast pork is fit for a king and the rest of the egg roll is wonderful as well). Finally, for those that enjoy meatless dishes, they have some tofu substitutes that are sure to please. One word of advice, though: their tofu tastes better when paired with certain sauces. I personally recommend their "white garlic sauce" or their Szechuan sauce. If you choose to have your tofu with brown sauce, it only tastes "okay." They also have decently flavorful vegetable dumplings which can be steamed or fried according to your preference. There are very few dishes at this place that I actually do not like, but if I had to name one, it would be their Pineapple Chicken. The dish is very greasy and doesn't taste very good at all. Steer clear of it unless you really like pineapple and don't mind greasy, deep fried chicken. If I chose to describe all the great dishes this chinese place has, I would end up writing a novel, so I will stop here. In conclusion, all I can say is that this place is the best around; their ingredients are fresh, their sauces are superb and I would be very surprised to find a person who didn't like their food. OpinionDivulger   -   The best kind of vegan food establishment is the kind that can even entice avid meat eaters into giving their cuisine a try. The Stand is one such place. Despite their higher than average prices, I can see many people finding their food to be worth it. They mostly tout their vegan juices and smoothies, but they also have an interesting array of sandwiches, all filled with meatless equivalents of things that meat eaters love to eat. If you really want to veg it up, instead of getting your food between two pieces of organic whole wheat bread, you can opt to convert (some of) their sandwiches into a wrap, in which case they will use large collard green leaves to encase the rest of the ingredients. I have tried most of their sandwiches, so my score is based solely on those food items (the drinks were too pricey to warrant a taste from me). No Tuna Melt: This sandwich doesn't taste like a tuna melt, but it's absolutely delicious nonetheless. The mixture of vegetables, seeds and nayonaise is tantalizing, plus the soy cheese tastes surprisingly like dairy cheese. This is my favorite sandwich to get at this place. Tempeh Reuben: Do you like BBQ rib sandwiches? You will most likely love this. This is the only sandwich served warm, but it's worth waiting for the warm tempeh smothered in vegan BBQ sauce. The sauerkraut and condiments round everything out. Extremely good. Hummus Avocado: Almond hummus? Yes, apparently such a food does exist. It's also very tasty. There is quite a bit of avocado in this sandwich and at times it can overpower the flavor of the rest of the ingredients, but this still makes a very nice meal. No Chix Sandwich: I don't know how they pull it off, but the cashew pate (yes, you read right) tastes surprisingly like real chicken! This is a nice sandwich, although the flavors could be a little bit bolder in my opinion. Ollie Bean: As the name conveys, the veggie pate is made out of olives and beans. I myself didn't care very much for the flavor of this sandwich, but if you're a bigger fan of the ingredients than I am, I imagine you would enjoy it. Curry Collard Wrap: This is the only sandwich that solely comes in wrap form. The collard leaf itself tastes slightly bitter, but did not take away from the ingredients inside. The star of the show is the curry almond pate. If you love Indian cuisine, this will be sure to please. If not, then this may not be for you, since the curry is very strong. B.O.C.: This is the only sandwich I did not purchase. If you get this sandwich, you are essentially getting avocado on toast, which I did not feel was worth the price. Overall, the sandwiches are very interesting and surprisingly filling. You're almost certain to find something suitable for your own personal palette. If you want to have a satisfying vegan meal, The Stand will most likely fit the bill! less

Some of the bread was thoroughly waterlogged on the bottom; the only explanation I can come up with is that it was "recycled" from a breadbasket cleared from a previous diner's table. My wife was served a florescent orange lobster bisque the consistency of pudding; you could almost stand a spoon up in it, in a bowl which was splattered and blackened with baked-on food (I wish I could post a picture; it was so remarkable I photographed it). My salad was gritty, suggesting that the salad was sandy and hadn't been properly washed. One of our party was served a shrimp Caesar salad where at least 1/3 of the shrimp were still translucent and obviously raw. Another was served a steak which was so overcooked it was reduced to beef jerky which couldn't be penetrated with a knife and fork. Another's baked potato was shriveled, dried out, and cold; nobody believed that it had been cooked within the last 72 hours; perhaps it was "recycled" from another cleared plate, too. Another, who is fond of chicken Caesar salads, declared his to be the worst he'd ever encountered; the chicken had been literally incinerated into charcoal. The time from being seated to being served this repast was nearly two hours, and the attitude of the wait staff was one of palpable indifference. After searching in vain for someone in charge, we asked if there was a manager on the floor. We were assured that there was, but no one ever revealed themselves to speak with us. Outriggers is quite possibly the worst restaurant I've ever encountered. less

The soup is thick and delicious with homemade croutons and the salad is chopped up with bacon, croutons, grilled chicken, and the greens with vinagrette dresing. On Thursday I get the Yankee Bean soup and oh man is this hearty and loaded with nice chunks of celery and carrots. The service is good and the price isn't bad. less

My husband had the Chicken Souvlaki over rice, it was delicious and the rice awesome. If you go to Frankie's try the house dressing on your salad, it is fantastic.
