LOTS of space for large groups. Most of us aren't really that picky about how our pizza tastes, so this place can be fine. They have a hilarious extra-extra large sized pizza that is fun to get, but order way ahead of time to get it. I think they may deliver, but I didn't see any delivery vehicles out front. less

Dani13   -   The doors sprung open by a group of six casual, urban looking twenty year olds. My awkwardness of eating alone instantly melted away by the host’s charming smile and welcoming greet. I took a cozy booth in the corner just past the bar. There wasn’t a wait but the most of the tables were occupied. All the natural light really opens the restaurant to its entirety. The waitress, Amy, approached me while singing along to Florence and the Machine, using her pen for a microphone. She was hilarious constantly cracking jokes and making up random conversations to make the dinner more entertaining. She guided me through the specials one by one and introduced me to their amazing drink menu consisting of different mixed cocktails, beers, and wines. The hornet’s menu is small and based primarily off sandwiches and wraps but they had a few signature dishes such as baby back ribs, Guinness battered fish n’ chips, or citrus crusted salmon. I decided to have the St. Leo for a cocktail due to the waitress’s recommendation. I am personally not a fan of gin but she said even gin-haters love this drink, so I gave it a shot. The St. Leo was awesome! The drink was a combination of gin, orange juice, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and St. Germaine. The St. Leo was shaken slightly, not enough to lose the sting of the gin but just enough to chill it to the perfect temperature. The drink itself was nine dollars but worth every penny! For dinner I decided to go simple, with a buffalo chicken wrap. The wrap was far from simple. The dish was slowly oozing out ranch and buffalo sauce from the corners of the wrap. The tortilla was stable but soft making it capable of holding all the fresh ingredients inside. The chopped, fried, buffalo chicken had a quick kick that was calmed by the taste of the gorgonzola cheese. The hornet offers a number of side dishes to accompany the different warps and burgers. I love sweet potato fries so my mind was made up even though Amy recommended the cheesy scalloped potatoes. The sweet potato fries were piping hot and absolutely delicious. The fries were served with a spicy ketchup sauce that was kind of interesting but addicting. I will say though that I noticed the scalloped potatoes at the table next to me and they were bubbling over with cheese and steam. I am sure I would have been equally happy with Amy’s recommendation. The buffalo chicken wrap was only ten dollars! The food was far better than the reviews stated. Amy didn’t miss a beat; she refilled water on stealthily, plates cleared quickly, and was spot on with recommendations. The crowd in the Hornet was quite diverse with an older biker group, young families, and casual hipsters. The employees all seem to be encouraged to dress in their own unique styles. A customer would have absolutely no excuse to mix up who their server was. The atmosphere was happy with upbeat music. The natural sun light shined on the yellow and green walls that are layered in chalkboards full of specials, crazy colorful artwork, and a few TVs. The kitchen is wide open behind the bar showing all the craziness of a typical kitchen line. The music was not blaring and there was enough room between each table that conversations could not be easily over heard. The only negative part of this restaurant is their dirty, dark, and dingy women’s bathroom. The dimness of the bathroom doesn’t hide all the shredded toilet paper and odd puddles on the floor. However, they did have plenty of soap, toilet paper, and paper towels, which in my book are the true concerns for a john. I was extremely impressed with The Hornet! Amy made the experience extremely fun and comfortable. Many reviews said that the service at the Hornet was a wash. In my opinion, Amy gave the best service I have had in years! The St. Leo was beyond any expectation I could have had for a gin drink and the buffalo chicken wrap and sweet potato fries gave me an extremely pleasant food coma. Minus the bathroom I would say this place might just become a regular pit stop. I am clearly one of the last people to find this hidden gem. less

I had the duck last night and it was truly divine. If you loved what James did at the Blue Star, you will be head over heels for the food at Crepes Francaise. I had crepes for dessert. Which were also divine and not too heavy. Also, for those of you who shun gluten, James has created a gluten free crepe. My next visit will be to try the brunch menu which sounds as incredible as dinner was. less

Every morsel was smoky good. Those wings are a new addition from our previous visit, and well worth it. They were huge, smokey on the inside, thick sauce on the outside, served with ranch. The brisket and pork had a wonderful crust. The beans are so cooked down, rich and not too sweet. We love the little crock it is served in. Tater salad is great. Coleslaw was a bit limp. Our server got us everything we needed, and was friendly. Both of us ate well, and still we took home a boxful. Cost $30. less
